“The Most Delicious, Creative Ice Creams In All of New York!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

No matter the weather - hot or cold- the rich, amazing ice cream at Ample Hills in Prospect Heights Brooklyn is a wonderful treat! The variety and inventiveness of flavors will satisfy all. The freshness and genuine ingredients are guaranteed and the ice cream is made right there.

My favorite flavors are salt cracked Carmel and honeycomb. Choices vary daily. On my most recent visit, on a cold March night during a visit from Seattle, i joined the line of eager customers which stretched down the side of the shop. No matter, the wait was well worthwhile!
Yum yum! This ice cream is heavenly!

“It's just not fair...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

... that we live on the other side of the continent from Ample Hills Creamery!
We first paid this place a visit a year or so ago, and were introduced to the salted crack caramel ice cream. Yeah, the reference to crack is quite valid as it is highly addictive.
I tried another flavor this time and it was equally fantastic. If someone gives this place a bad review because they didn't like the ice cream, I don't see the reason - the staff here is great about offering you tastes of all the flavors.
If we lived near here, we'd come here at least once a week to try all the flavors - the ones with alcohol in them, and the ones without. Ample Hills is a delight with its swap-o-matic and other fun stuff, a really enjoyable, friendly staff that obviously enjoys creative ice cream-making, but its real star is its fantastic ice cream. Start with the salted caramel crack, and when you can wean yourself off it, explore all the other delicious flavors that await!

“oooooh”

this was my first visit and I fell for the salt cracked caramel ice cream.
This would be adequate for one's last meal, last taste.
Very much fun and certainly worth the trip

“Salt Crack Caramel of you dreams!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012

Super fun place with great flavors! Ice cream on site and you can sometimes see it being made. Kids section with all ice cream related books. Swap-o-matic machine up front, which is a fun idea. Benches and a few tables outside. Pros: Flavors: Salt crack caramel (flavor and cookie form), Sunday brunch, Munchies, Bananatella. My wife loves the Peanut Butter Flake and Maple Walnut Brittle. Cons: I think the dark fudge brownie is too rich to be used in conjuction with ice cream in sundae format unless you counter it with a lighter ice cream. Long lines and sometimes flavors and homemade cones sell out, so I advise to get there on the early side.

“Overpriced, abominably sweet ice cream that gives a feeling of an approaching heart attack.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012 via mobile

Sure, its a cute store. Sure, the ingredients are fresh. Sure, its full of cool people and friendly personel.Yet this in no way justifies the super high prices and long long line. After a half hour wait i got the ice cream cup of doom, with the raspberry blonde and the honey flavored scoops. They were both overwhelmingly sweet. The honey flavor tasted nothing like honey, but like vanillla ice cream with caramel swirls. The raspberry was also regular vanilla with pieces of blondies and some raspberry jam mixed in. I could make the same at home for less money and it would probably take me 10 minutes. Come to this place only if you enjoy supersweet overpriced junk food.
