We stayed in the Condor hotel during our NYC trip.
The rooms are very nice, clean & big.
Anthony at the front desk helped us out all the time with allmost everything. If there was a problem, advice on sight seeing, even to help buying tickets to the Yankees. Big thanks for that! :)

John, Drew and Mo are brilliant reception staff who really do make this a great place to stay. They all deserve a hotel of their own! However, the hotel website does not give a clear and transparent account of the exact location of this hotel. There is no mention that the hotel is in the Hasidic district of mid-town Brooklyn. Likewise there is no mention that there is no bar at the hotel, or any local bars or restaurants. Having said that, we enjoyed our 7 night stay with much help from the reception staff who were only too pleased to be of assistance.

Thank you RenaRen for taking the time to write. Our staff appreciated the mention and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. While we do not have a bar at the hotel there are some great placed like The Brooklyn Taphouse within walking distance. We hope you will take advantage of all our neighborhood has to offer on your next trip.

If you like to walk one kilometer twice a day(at least) to the subway and back and take 2-3 trains to get into town, if you like to walk in a grimy surrounding smelly at times climbing over garbage leftovers, an industrial neighborhood of auto parts and Garages, If you want a place where there are no coffee shops or decent eating places and for your safety you will see at least 3 police man patrolling the area at night. but you will hear screaming in the hallway - This is the place for you.

True, the staff was nice the rooms were clean, but if you put in a microwave and a refrigerator can't you put is some spoons and knifes?

This cost us 300 dollars per night on a Saturday, a little less on the week days. Well I was persuaded by others who said good things about this hotel. (Remember 4.2) now it's up to you to decide

PS the service I got from people at the other end of Hotel.com was offensive, unpleasant and insulting

Room Tip: at least ask for a room with a view Know what you going to get

Thank you blue_or for taking the time to write, we take all feedback seriously. While we are located 8/10 of a km from the Subway, as you can see from other reviews our neighborhood is definitely not grimy or unsafe by any means. We are located in a mixed use neighborhood that is mostly residential with some commercial businesses as well. Our rates are always significantly lower than comparable hotels in Manhattan making us a great value for Manhattan and Brooklyn visitors alike.

I had a great stay at this hotel. After reading reviews about the "bad" location I was a little nervous, but was relieved when I got there. I even parked on the street (which is free on the weekends and plenty of spaces were available) which I tend to not do anywhere near the city.

We got the luxury suite and were very happy with the room. It was very spacious, especially for brooklyn, and the balcony was huge. The bed was very comfortable, and there were two large leather couches in the living room.

I would definitely stay here again.

My mother and I were in town for a family funeral. The hotel was beautiful and worth the price. We were greeted by a a very friendly lady named Mo, she helped us with directions to funeral home and was a joy to talk to. I have no complaints about the room or the hotel itself. Everything was clean and very modern and up to date. Worth every penny. My only issue was the amount of trash on the streets outside the hotel and a alley right on the side of the hotel that was full of old, filthy mattresses. Very unsightly. My mother and I were praying that they didn't come from the Condor.

PS: We couldn't get past how great the lobby smelled.

Thank you Shayne for taking the time to write. We are sorry that you came for a funeral, hopefully your next visit will be for a wedding! (As for the trash, our next door neighbor recently moved and left behind the mess you saw. We are doing everything we can to have it cleaned up so you don't have to see that again.)

Just want everyone to know the hotel was excellent, very very clean, modern, neat, the continental breakfast was excellent. Although we are in Brooklyn parking is in a secure gated area only access is with security code. 5 blocks to train to manhattan or like 10 minute drive into lower manhattan . John at the front desk was the best. He not only guide us where to eat in area but was very helpful for anything u need. He is a real gentleman. Great place to stay. Has refrig microwave, cabe, Internet .

I stayed 4 night in the Condor Hotel, and it was most certainly a pleasure. The room was excellent, and so was the bathroom. The bed too was very good and comfortable. A small disadvantage was the fact that the light switches were hidden behind the pillows so they flickered when I sat upright on the bed. Took me a while to figure that one out. Also very was the small kitchen slab and a coffee machine. Should be in every hotel room anywhere.

A small disadvantage was the neighborhood, which was partly a sort industrial zone.

A recommandation for the management would be the have the possibility to buy alcholic beverages on the premises. There are some delis around the corner, but you do not always want to go outside. Ordering of the likes is possible but it takes a while.
