Bar scene is commendable. Big, enough space to probably find a seat. Cocktail menu needs a revamp.

Food is actually not that cheap and is mediocre at best. It just feels weird inside.. Actual tables and chairs are pretty big and you feel a bit lost in when sitting down with a group of friends. Food menu is almost too big. Wait staff was a bit clueless and took a little longer than hoped. It was fine.. but nothing to rave about.

The menu is very different and varied. We had the pulled pork sandwich which came with a side of fresh summer slaw, very refreshing. We also had the Cobb salad with hanger steak. The salad overall was great except the steak came bit overcooked. Nice space, great beer/wine list and good waitress. I would have given it 4 stars if not for the snippy hostess and constant presence of the busboys. The busboys kept coming around asking to clear items off the table. This gets extremely annoying when trying to enjoy dinner and your time. Then to top it off, the manager was walking by and found it necessary to reach across us, to clear my empty glass and card receipt. Just unnecessary, I find this to be consistent with all restaurants in hipster type neighborhoods. Would like to go back for the food but too many other choices.

It's really 1.5 unless you get the ONLY goodish thing on the menu the hamburger. They really need to reThink the menu! It is a nice atmosphere and bar.

Brick walls, mismatched chandeliers, wrought iron, high ceilings, enormous wooden slab tables surrounded by many smaller but equally warm and cozy ones.. That's the scene. You can choose whether you are looking for a bar or a restaurant experience, as they are both very nice. The food was excellent. Everything we had from the Polenta appetizer, to the dinosaur ribs to the strogranoff (best dish of all 6 entrees) were delicous. Friends had the clam chowder and raved. The burger also got much praise. Extensive beer list and knowledgable server were great as well. The ENORMOUS slab of maple walnut cake was a bit dry for some (it was vegan) but we enjoyed it nonetheless and took most of it home. Choloate bread pudding was YUM. We will definitely be back.

Rebar is the must go place, if you´re in Dumbo. Placed in the centre of the creative communities with art galleries and small shops all around, Rebar is a good place to rest you're feet and have some lunch.
At lunchtime Rebar is more restaurant than bar, and they serve well prepared food from a nicely assorted menu with sandwiches, soups and burgers. I had a burger, and it was excellent and at a reasonable price.
Service was excellent as well and very helpful despite a busy lunch hour.
The restaurant room is very nicely restored to preserve the original use of the room as a warehouse. Everything was very clean and nice. Also the restrooms.
My tip; Try the double baked potatoes. There are great.
