“Nice Enough Hotel .. But Would Do It Again”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

There are some things that will ruin a hotel stay no matter how good the hotel is. One is to be stuck in Brooklyn, NY at midnight with no place to park after paying Marriott's parking fee with the promise of a reserved parking spot. At that point, the offer to refund the $25 parking fee is pretty meaningless. The last time, they denied me check in even with their reservation paperwork in hand. I'm done with Marriott!!

Room Tip: Stay away from elevators. No frig or Microwaves as stated. Ice on every other floor.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your recent experience at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Brooklyn. As the General Manager of the hotel, I personally regret that the inconvenience you experienced due to the lack of parking prevented our hotel and our amazing team from exceeding your expectations. As a hotel located in a very active and thriving urban area, the demand for on-site parking continues to escalate even as the hotel is conveniently located to several major transportation hubs offering easy access to the NYC subway system in addition to the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road). The guest voice is extremely powerful and very important to the Marriott family. We do recognize that due to demand that has far exceeded anyone's expectations that parking has the possibility to present itself as a challenge and therefore has prompted the hotel's ownership group to join forces with Marriott in an effort to explore smart alternatives that will work to minimize any inconvenience to our loyal and valued guests.

We do appreciate your loyalty to the Marriott family of hotels and for choosing the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Brooklyn. We also appreciate your patience and understanding while we utilize our resources to expedite a solution.

I would like to extend an invitation for you to again give us the opportunity to “WOW” you with our award winning service the next time your travels bring you back to the Brooklyn/NYC area. Being a part of such a dynamic area is extremely rewarding and we continue to celebrate everything that is Brooklyn, thank you again and we look forward to your next visit.

Sincerely,

Darren Piercey

The hotel seems new. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included in the lower lobby and it is adequate. The rooms are on the smaller side but okay for a 2 night stay for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The beds were very soft so not as comfortable as I would have expected. The neighborhood is in transition but it it has come a long way from where it was 5 years ago. Lots of restaurants nearby and delivery is available from most. Parking is very limited. We arrived late on a Monday night and got the last spot. The person checking in after me had to use street parking which the person at the front desk helped him find. Good thing is that once you get a spot you are guaranteed a spot for the entire stay. In and out privileges are included. Overall, its everything you would expect from a Fairfield Inn but right in the middle of downtown Brooklyn. We would and will stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room up top for some great city scape views

This was a great stay, overall atmosphere is very nice, staff helful and smiling. Rooms were not very big but perfectly clean, room service every day. I loved the roof terrace with a view over Brooklyn and Manhattan. Complimentary hot beverages throughout the day was a plus, especially during cold days. One thing I didnt like was that breakfast is only till 9 am.

This was the first time we stayed out of the city of NY and used public transportation, subway. The hotel was renovated. The placed and room were clean. When you stayed up the roof top, you can see beautiful view of NY and Brooklyn.

The price was right. Services were very good. The hotel offered breakfast in very nice setting area, but has no restaurant. You can buy snack and other needed items at the counter shelf. It was safe to walk around in the evening. There are many restaurants on the walking distance.

We stayed here as part of a mini-NY vacation. close to Manhattan by train , 20-25 minutes. Saved plenty of money by being out of the city. This hotel is in an area that is going through some transitions , for the better. Plenty of food and restaurants only a couple of blocks away by foot. We walked to Barclays center for a game and had no worries. The hidden gem here is the rooftop terrace ( open year round ) great view of WTC and NYC skyline.
Only negative , we had a room facing parking lot and there is some sort of music studio in warehouse next to hotel , we could hear music until midnight 1 AM.

Room Tip: High room near front can hear music studio.

Very comfortable and clean state-of-the-art hotel. Rooms are small but stylish and well equipped. Cannot hear noise from neighboring rooms! Windows can open! Friendly staff. A little out of the way in terms of access to Barclays Center subway but not a problem. Roof deck would be great in warm weather - great view of Manhattan and Statue of Liberty. Limited on site parking but nearby street parking is free and safe.

Murfre:

Good evening from Brooklyn and the Fairfield Inn & Suites. We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for your complimentary review of our beautiful Brooklyn hotel. Our beautiful new hotel continues to thrive from all the positive energy in this exciting transitional Brooklyn neighborhood. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Brooklyn welcomed the much anticipated opening of the world class, state of art Barclay's arena and we are extremely excited to have been selected by many arena guests as well as several A-List entertainers as their hotel of choice while visiting Brooklyn and Barclay's arena. Our smart location which is only 7 blocks from Atlantic Avenue provides our guests with a short 10 minute walk or a 5 minute car ride to this breathtaking facility.

As the General Manager of this exciting hotel, I am extremely appreciative of your recognition of our nationally recognized and award winning staff. These guys work overtime in ensuring that every guest has a "WOW" experience, Every Day, Every Stay.

We look forward to your next visit and again hope that you have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful rooftop which offers spectacular views of Downtown Brooklyn and the Lower Manhattan Skyline. We also have some exciting news regarding our rooftop. Our developers and architects are currently working on the design of our highly anticipated rooftop bar/lounge which will offer food and drink options on a beautiful terrace overlooking the greatest city in the world. Stay tuned.

Thank you again for your great review. We sincerely appreciate the feedback and are already preparing for your next visit.

Have a great evening!

Location is transitional but hotel gave a feel of a boutique type hotel. It was smaller and more intimate. The breakfast room was in basement but was still light and airy. We were on the second floor but it was below street level. Our view from our window was a concrete wall. When we looked up we could see the tires of the cars in the side parking spaces. Other than that it was clean. Staff very helpful.
