Bay Ridge Alpine Cinemas
Ranked #12 of 35 Fun & Games in Brooklyn
Attraction details
Reviewed July 20, 2013

The Bayridge Alpine Cinemas is the only theater in our neighborhood. It is outdated and defiantly no frills. They added 1 theater with stadium seating and changed the seats in another. I hope they continue to renovate the othe 6 theates. They have decent prices and The Alpine offers matinee prices everyday for the first showing of each movie. This is great for families and seniors. 6 out of the 7 theaters are wheelchair accessable.

We enjoyed watching movies here mainly for the convenience - just several blocks away from where we lived. While it is a no-frills theater (with just your usual popcorn and snack counter and a smattering of arcade games), prices were cheap compared to other theaters, and the place was pretty clean.

It's also a block away from the R station, with ample street parking (except maybe on a Friday night).

For some reason though, you can't buy tickets for this cinema on Fandango, but unless you're watching a five-star blockbuster, there's hardly any line to speak of at the ticket counter anyway.

I live a mile away from this theatre and I use to hate this place because it was so dirty and crappy! But a few years back it got new owners and today the place has improved alot! The price is only $9 per ticket and that is the cheapest in Brooklyn without a doubt! They dont have a huge selection of food and it's not that great anyways but again cheaper than other theatre's. Eat before you get to the theatre especially since there are so many choices on 5th and 4th Avenue. The workers there are young kids but I never had a problem with them so their customer service is ok at best but again never had a problem! Sometimes you walk into a theatre and some seats are broken but since we go when it's never packed it doenst bother me. Just be careful if there is a popular movie coming out!! If you know a movie will be popular then try and go Friday before school or early on the weekends when the kids are sleeping because if not you will wait on a freaking long line that goes around the block at times and most likely sit all the way in front when the movie starts! There is only 1 box office with 1 person working so when there is a long line you can expect to wait 20 minutes or more!! Overall it's a good theatre that is cheap. Can use new seats but for $9 a ticket you cant really complain!!!
