Super 8 Brooklyn / Park Slope Hotel
Ranked #32 of 73 Hotels in Brooklyn

Pro's - comfy bed, good location for subway, fridge in room, breakfast included, hotel is one year old so in good condition.
Cons - cramped room for two people with lots of luggage, slow elevator, very small and hot breakfast area, air con in room works but doesn't cool quickly, staff didn't know where nearest laundromat was.
Would I stay again - look elsewhere first and if too expensive, I would stay here again.

Our room was really clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and modern. The room was kind of small, but OK. The front desk persons were awesome. I was there with a group & they were very helpful in contributing to a very fun time in Brooklyn for my niece's wedding. This hotel is an awesome value for New York!! VERRRRY close to the Union Street metro.

But just to be really honest, I did have these 3 comments/suggestions that I put in the hotel's email review. But these are not dealbreakers for me.

Our room was very noisy due to being on the street side. However; I do understand why and maybe nothing can be done. I heard some guests asking for quieter rooms, so this may be something that can be fixed...

Breakfast room is too small to accomodate the number of guests staying during the time period of our visit. I believe this is because the hotel is full all the time due to the good value. I would recommend doubling the space allocated, really. But hey, maybe this is one of the reasons the hotel is such a good value, right?

The front desk area was neat & tidy, but as a second priority suggestion I would add an anteroom with a couch and chair or two for visitors waiting for cars/etc. If more than 3 people are standing in the lobby, there is limited room for access to the stairs or elevator.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street.

This hotel is a fairly standard hotel, similar to Premier Inn in the UK. Good quality but nothing spectacular. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were pleasant. The location was good, near to the subway with some good shops nearby. Not too far to walk to Prospect Park.
Breakfast is available and there is quite a bit of choice. However the breakfast room is pretty small and, when we were there, very popular!
This hotel is really good value. Recommended if you want to stay in Brooklyn and not spend loads of money.

Positive:
Was in the hotel from 23.10.2011 to 31.10.2011. Very comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. It is near the subway station. The room was always clean. The service was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

Negative: The breakfast area was a small.

We chose this hotel because Manhattan prices were too high! This hotel turned out to be the perfect solution! It was less than half the cost and was very close to the subway. The subway was only about a block away and the train went directly to Manhattan, no need to transfer trains. Whew! The 1 block between the subway and hotel was a bit dumpy and didn't appear to be the best neighborhood, but we felt ok walking it for just a block. Another block up from the subway was completely different...a great little community with a ton of great shops and restaurants that we visited a couple of times. All in all it was a great place to stay for the price and I'm really glad we found that great community in Brooklyn. The room was small compared to our midwest hotels, but that was to be expected. It was newly renovated and clean. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Our room had a fridge which was unexpected...not sure if that is standard in all rooms but it sure w...

I stayed overnight at the Brooklyn Super 8 the night before boarding a cruiseship. This hotel was very close to the cruise terminal, the reviews were good, and the cost was reasonable, especially for NYC! We were VERY pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the room (although the "curb appeal" and lobby are not great!), and the staff were most helpful and courteous! They held our luggage the following morning after checkout and prior to time for boarding our cruiseship so that we could do a little bit of sightseeing in Brooklyn. THANK YOU, Super 8, for exceeding our expectations!

I agree with previous reviews. The subway is a 5 min walk and the ride is 20-60 minutes depending on where in Manhattan, what time of day and how many train switches. The R line was reliable though and gets you right down the center of Manhattan. More advanced travelers can switch to the N line and get to mid-town a little bit quicker.
The hotel was quiet, there was free parking and breakfast was included. There was an awesome taco place on 4th that you must visit!
