For NYC and at this price, this place is a deal. Lobby and common areas are a bit basic and worn. But who cares. The room is a good size. There is a walk in shower and the bed is amazing!

The staff were all as helpful as they could be. And the location is beside so many subway stops your only mins from Manhattan.

I would definitely stay here in future trips to NYC.

I stayed at the hotel over the course of 4 separate visits during the month of November 2013.

Positives:
Hotel is in a fantastic location in downtown Brooklyn, and is within walking distance of the Barclays Center, shopping, and a decent number of eating locations.
Room is clean and comfortable and you can actually adjust the temperature to your heart's content. The bed is pretty comfortable but more on the plush side so if you prefer a firm bed then you might not like it, but I found it comfortable. They also put enough pillows on the bed to create a fort if that's your type of thing.
Staff and service is excellent and very friendly.
There's a Starbucks in the lobby for snacks and coffee, but more on that later.
The hotel is pricey but I have seen prices go +/- $150 so spend sometime and shop.
Its a Sheraton so its a Sheraton quality property.

Negative:
The wireless internet is atrocious. I stayed on the 4th, 5th, 11th, and 14th floors and everytime the internet was terrible. Actually getting to the sign on page is a test of patience and the speed of the connection is poor.
There's construction happening around the corner and it begins at 7AM, so be prepared for noise at that time if you're on the lower floors where you can definitely hear it. I didn't really mind this since I was up anyways, but for those you like to sleep in late it might be on concern.
There's no mini-fridge or microwave as standard in the rooms. The fridge is a $10 surcharge per day IF they have one available in the first place, which leads me to the Starbucks in the lobby. Snacks are affordable but if you elect to sit down then prices shoot up. For example, a morning parfait costs about $5 but if you choose to sit down then its $8. Just something to consider.
Lastly, parking. Valet is $45 a day but you can choose to self park around the corner for $35 at the same lot where the valet takes your car. This isn't a ding against the hotel but an observation.

Would I stay here again? Yes. It is a comfortable business hotel and very clean. It might be pricey at times, but given the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff, its worth it. The construction might be annoying if you like to sleep in, but think of it as a wake up call if nothing else

The hotel is very nice but the best part of it was the excellent customer service. The staff here is very professional and very thoughtful. They seem to go out of their way to make you feel welcome! There is a free computer area that is easy to use. The breakfast was superb in their restaurant within.

Room Tip: You need very good directions to get to the exact right spot !

I stayed during fashion week and the hotel was amazing. Customer service was great with a very attentive staff and the room was nice with a very nice bathroom. Im so use to being in walking distance of so many amazing restaurants and the hotel is far from restaurants because its near a shopping mall. If you want to hit the touristy spots of nyc keep in mind that the train ride can be kinda long.

Well, let's start with the positives. It's in a great location but that's probably the most appealing part of hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfy. But that's basically it.

Some basic amenities such as microwave or fridge are lacking. Internet is not free. I actually overheard one guest complaining then angrily walked out since he didn't know that internet was not free until he saw his bill. I understand that this is New York and that some similar hotels like the Marriott still charge for the internet, but the fact that lower star or more economical hotels (even in the NYC area) have more amenities than the Sheraton or similar hotels is laughable. A full days access is 15 dollars which is expensive considering that you can get monthly access for your house for like $20 or premium internet for like $60.

Elevators are super annoying. In order to use the elevator, you need to use your hotel key. I understand that they may be a security feature but if you have family/friends staying in different rooms who are above you, especially 10+ floors above, you can run into some inconvenience considering that you don't have access to floors that are above the floor you are staying (perhaps this only applies to non-members). Sometimes the cards stop working and some guests have difficulty of how to use the elevator.

Overall, I'd sacrifice location for amenities. Although the Sheraton had updated and clean rooms, the lack of amenities leaves something more to be desired.
