“Great pannelle specials”

This place has great pannelle specials ( fried chickpeas, ricotta cheese, parmigiana cheese on a roll...and heated in an oven).
However..you have to put up with the owner who sits by the door scowling at all who come through....but..it is worth going.

Discovered this hidden gem through friends who grew up in this part of Brooklyn. Some of the dishes here are so regional I’ve never had them before!
Try the panell, stuffed artichoke, vastedda(spleen sandwich), arancina (unlike any arancina I’ve ever had).
Great experience... don’t miss it!

Yum. Delicious arancini balls with mince meat and peas in the middle. The cannelloni is to die for. The filling just delicious. Thanks famous fat dave.

This place has amazing food. I have been a customer for 40 years and will continue to eat here. Rice balls, Panelle, Potatoe Croquette..OMG!!!!. Manhattan Special on Tap..nothing more to say!!!
It is a must and you will be addicted

I'm a first generation Italian-American whose parents were born and raised in Calabria, Italy, right across from Sicily. So I am rather familiar with cooking from that region. To say that Ferdinando's is authentic would be an understatement. From the food, to the owner, to the decor, this gem MUST be on your restaurant to-do list! I was there for the first time today with family and from the authentic stuffed rice balls to the panelle sandwich (an absolute must have) to the tripe stew to the linguine con seppia, it was all A+. Do not, I repeat, do not wait another day to eat here. One recommendation to ownership; on weekends, after 6:00 PM, dim the lights, put white table cloths on the tables, have your wait staff dress in classic black attire and I'll guarantee you that you will have a line out the door. Good luck and thank you for a GREAT meal!
