This large, quaint home is located within easy walking distance of the subway - a plus if you come to town without a car. Trudy and Paul do their best to ensure that you find interesting, easily-accessible places to visit while you are in town. Paul produced detailed maps and both helped out with background information on the sites we meant to see. They also gave us great recommendations on delicious restaurants within easy walking distance of the Blue Porch.
Our room was large and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom on the second floor has been beautifully refurbished and is conveniently located just outside the first bedroom door. Trudy provides hearty breakfasts and coffee and is attentive to any dietary restrictions you may have.
A couple of tips that would be helpful to know: the floors in the hall and on the steps are creaky and can disturb a light sleeper. In addition, be prepared for the luggage examination/vacuuming on arrival, something we’ve not ever encountered before.
