“Worth a trip from Manhattan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

We live in Manhattan, but heard about the pizza and other food and went on a sunny saturday. This place is in hipster haven. Just a few minutes walk from the Morgan Station on the "L" line. Easy to get there, harder to find. But, just ask one of the hipsters around.

Food was really good. We enjoyed the slightly overpriced pizzas which included very fresh ingredients and great sauce. We also had the corned beef which was really tasty and gourmet.

So, we had a nice meal for a price that was not cheap, but you certainly could do worse in NYC. Cool atmosphere and vibe made it special.

If you not like hot spaces, don't sit near the wood burning fireplace on the patio.

“Very good pizza with outdoor bar in Brooklyn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

A group of friends and I went here after seeing it on Bourdain's "No Reservations."

First, it's easy to miss...I honestly thought the cab had dropped us at the wrong spot. There's a tiny easily overlook-able neon "Roberta's" sign, and you'd never know it was a restaurant from the outside. Once inside, we saw a lively, bustling pizza-focused restaurant and bar. I do think it's neat that they grow their own herbs/spices in an urban garden onsite, make their own fresh bread, etc. The prices were reasonable...I think my "Famous Old Fashioned" pizza was $13 and probably 12" across.

In the back there was an enclosed "tiki" style outdoor bar. It was still cold outside (early March), so they had an old Army tent set up with a heater and benches inside.

Everyone in our group of 15 people enjoyed their meal. Maybe it's the contrarian in me, though, but I do not understand how many people on Trip Advisor say it's the "best" pizza they've ever had. It's very good and fresh, and let's leave it at that very positive review.

“Could this be the best pizza in Brooklyn?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Simply put, no. It's good but based upon some of the other reviews here you'd think that it causes multiple orgasms upon touching your tongue, gives you the confidence to quit your crappy job and pursue your dreams which, as you just ate this pizza, will now be successful.

What makes the place enjoyable is the ambiance, the decor and the outside seating area. Yes, it's an interesting juxtaposition from what you'd expect in a down and out but now up and coming area of Brooklyn, but really that's kind of par for the area now. That said I've always had good service here, the beer selection if great and I've recommend eating here to other people. I just haven't eaten much here as it's quite expensive considering the ingredients and portion sizes, something that concerns me as I'm not a trust fund kid.

“Rite of passage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Only took me 3 years to get here, but Roberta's is like a Brooklyn rite of passage for foodies. Super fresh food with most veggies grown on their rooftop. Cool.
