Enjoyed their light, flavorful pizzas we shared as an appetizer. Other dishes good but nothing to run back for. Hubby is a Diabetic and requested a sugar substitute for his coffee. "Sorry ,we don't do that." Wanted my sticky bun warmed up for dessert. "Sorry, we don't do that".Instead of being generous, perhaps next to the word TIP on the bill we should have written "Sorry, we don't do that!"

At first we thought we were in the wrong place but the GPS indicated that Roberta's should be right in front of us. When we looked carefully (it was very dark) we saw the hand-painted sign and entered into a delightfully noisy atmosphere. The friendly greeter suggested we wait the hour and a half in the bar, which we did. The bar has long trestle tables where you can sit with others or bring a group. One wall was a movie screen, playing a vintage mystery. The foccacio was freshly baked, delicious with our beer. The wait was only about forty-five minutes and we moved into the eating area, where we enjoyed the tastiest wood-oven baked pizza and the freshest salad greens.
The crowd was young but, this seventy year old did not feel out of place. A very fun experience during our visit to New York City.

The best thing abotu Roberta's is the organic garden on the roof! They produce their own ingredients, and sell most to local businesses, and even have a mini market on the weekends. Oh, the pizza is incredible, and its an excellent place to bring some friends for a few pints and a few slices. Cant go wrong here.

Our (adult) kids suggested we meet them here for their "favorite pizza in Brooklyn." It was hard to find - in an industrial area, with a sign so tiny you miss it if you blink. We used GPS and still didn't see it until we followed a group of people going into a door. No noise on the street, but it was packed inside - no empty seats on a weekday evening at 8:30 PM.

After a wait of about 30 minutes, we snagged a table for 4 in the room between the main room and the garden. We ordered the fugazetti (eggplant) pizza and the zucchini contest, both excellent. The delicata salad was exceptionally flavorful, if somewhat lacking in greens. There was a fine selection of beers and loose leaf tea.

Seating is informal, sometimes communal at the larger tables. The service was just attentive enough, no attitude.

TIP: They only seat entire parties - a pet peeve of mine. If one of your party is delayed you all must wait to eat. They will permit you to open at tab at the bar while you wait.
TIP: Lots of street parking in the evening, but hard to find the door. The location is near the intersection of Moore and Bogart, just onto the North side of Moore St. When in doubt, follow the trail of people.

It's a nice space with semi-communal seating and good character. But the food is just OK. The pizzas are tasty but limp, the crust so thin and soggy that I could not lift mine off the plate. The romaine salad was just too plain and lacked in presentation: whole leaves of romaine lettuce sprinkled with pecorino and candied walnuts. It was good, just nothing that elevated it beyond the ordinary. The soft shell crab entree was tasty but miniscule. I think what happened with this place is that it was one of the first decent places to eat in this neighborhood and thus hyped beyond what it actually is: a fun lively, slightly over-priced place to grab some solid food in drink in this hood.
