I had booked the room through Hotels.com, and the reviews were modest to good. Those are a lie. The hotel is visibly run down, dirty, and both the hallways and our room smelled openly of stale urine and vomit. We took a walk to make sure we weren't imagining things, and then booked at another hotel ... for a rate CHEAPER then what Hotels.com offered in the first place! Wyndham Garden Brooklyn, a short walk away, was one hundred times cleaner, nicer, and cheaper to boot!

Room Tip: Don't go here.

This was the cheapest hotel I could get on such short notice. My wife had airline tickets she had to use soon so we decided to take our vacation in New York.

Very good value for the money. The room is fully equipped with all toiletries including toothbrushes and house slippers. Also a very good free breakfast. I told the desk clerk "see you next year" and I meant it.

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking.

Very basic hotel priced reasonably and in a convenient location. Staff was helpful in getting tours organized for us. Rooms comfortable. The only thing we found uncomfortable there wasn't any English channels on the TV. Basically a good value for money.

Solid three stars.

Pros: Inexpensive (for NY), super clean room that had great looking tile throughout (no carpet), smelled nice, friendly staff, good bathroom with not only the prerequisite soap, shampoo and conditioner, but toothbrushes, toothpaste, skin lotion, shower cap, even a comb and a pair of (one-size-fits-all) bathroom slippers. LCD TV. Close to subways. Wi-fi that wasn't spotty, though sometimes slow.

Cons: Small, cramped room; old, saggy mattress and road/construction noise. No frig, micro, coffee maker (typical for cheap NYC hotels). Located in drab, business neighborhood (though close to restaurants). Hallway carpet old and stained. Other reviewers complained of noise from karaoke bar next door. Some nights I could hear a faint sound of music, though we were on the 4th floor.

Room Tip: Try to get room on upper floor.

Maybe I expect too much but for the price we paid it was terrible. While having our friends and their parents with us, it was really a regret for us having booked this!
The only positive point in all was the free breakfast (although very basic). Everything else was disappointing.
-The first and the worst was location. In a messy area among car repairing places and in front of a cemetery. It didn't look safe at all especially at night, but luckily the subway station was close, so we jumped out of the train and ran into the hotel!
-The second was the front desk staff. Really unhelpful and rude, talking in an arguing manner all the time.
-The third was the room. No carpets on the floor, broken closet, no space to move around the bed, nothing to call "room design"!, cracks on the wall, window view to small messy houses hanging their clothes on strings...
-The fourth was about an extra bed. We had booked one of the rooms for three people but when we got there they said that there are no extra beds and they should share the existing double bed! They just gave us a blanket so one of my friends had to sleep on a floor even without any carpet!!! Imagine that for 4 nights...! Terrible! But there was no way to cancel the booking..
Actually if the price was low I would say this hotel is just suitable for workers looking for a cheap overnight stay without any special expectation of comfort or respect; but with the price we payed I can't even suggest it to that kind of travelers!
