We stayed here for a week at the end of March and ,on the whole, found it good value. This was our third visit and we had learned to ask for a room on one of the upper floors which are much quieter at night and also a room at the front of the hotel from which the views of Manhattan were fantastic. This was always the best part of the visit for me, as long as you looked across and not down at the street below where there were several unattractive industrial sites. The room was small but clean and comfortable with a large tv and most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Any problems, such as changing rooms were quickly sorted out. This year a breakfast bar had been added at the side of the hotel which was an enjoyable improvement. This is not the most attractive area of Brooklyn but Sunset Park is up the road and the subway across from the hotel. We will probably book in again next year!

Room Tip: See above. Book a room on an upper floor . Also ask for one at the front of the hotel where the view is much better.

We stayed in this hotel couple of days ago. We are not pleased at all. The hotel was neat but too noisy. You can hear all the noises from the passing cars and also from other rooms. The marijuana smoking coming in from both left, right and centre caused me and the children coughing excessively. We have never expericenced so much second hand smoking in our life. No iron or ironing board in the room. The iron that was given to us was half broken. Their phone system only God's know what the problem was we can only use calling card to make a local calls. The only credit I could give this hotel was to the receptionist they are really polite. I will never come back or recommend this hotel. We paid so much for junk.

This place turned out to be a great value at $99 a night. It was also close to the subway and the complimentary breakfast was really great. The room was tiny but clean. I would stay here again.

I also liked that there were so many international guest staying there. Great place to meet different people.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room near the elevator.

In overall we are very pleased with the hotel. It was very clean and nice looking, rather 3 star by European standards. The staff was very kind and helpful, both the night and the day shift. They allowed us to leave our luggage in their office after checking out the last day, so we could go to Manhattan one more time before leaving without dragging our suitcases. The breakfast was small and the same every day, but was a great convenience for tourists like us, leaving early for sightseeing. The area is not nice, but also did not seem dangerous to us.The subway is only meters away and only one line (D) to Manhattan. No transfers needed, 30-35 minutes to Downtown. Our room was 413 and was very quiet, although if you have lousy neighbours you can't avoid the noise. But compared to lower floors where you can hear the ventilation systems below the windows all night (our friends stayed at 313), it was great sleep. Our toilet did not flush well and eventually stopped. They fixed it while we were out. No bugs, hairs and food from previous stays.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a higher floor - there as a bar on first floor and then the ventilation system too close to second and third floors. The ice machine is on 5th floor and I heard it was noisy too. So I guess fourth floor is the best.
