My wife and I are moving from Sydney to New York and needed a place to stay while we look for a place to rent. We liked 331 State Street so much we didnt want to leave. The room was very clean and quiet. If we needed anything at all we just called the numbers provided in the room or on the entry way and everything was taken care of for us. The neighborhood was very safe and a block away from the train lines and supermarket. It was a great room to relax in with a massive amount of tv channels. It was the perfect place to stay.

We stayed here based on the recommendation of family friends. Their comments and suggestions were spot on. The neighborhood is quiet with a tree lined street and residential buildings. Street was clean and odor free! Entrance was appealing and the interior halls and stairways were clean and in good condition. Building appears to be from the 1930's or 40's but has been maintained well. No elevator but the climb wasn't bad at all. The room was bright and sunny on the days we were there though we would have liked brighter lights on the nightstands when we read at night. A/C worked adequately and the ceiling fan made the room cool at night during our stay. (Late June) The room, kitchen and bath were very clean and the furniture was in great condition. Adequate cooking and eating utensils were provided for small meals and breakfasts. The bath was small but very clean and had plenty of hot water. Some suggestions: 1) Bring your own soap/shampoo/toiletries as there are none provided. 2) Read the provided information booklet. There's lots of good information on nearby markets (Brooklyn Fare is a great one less than 5 minutes away), restaurants (Little Sweet Cafe), delis , diners (St. Clair at Atlantic & Smith) , entertainment, etc. We were there for 3 days and room didn't 'appear' to have been serviced but didn't need it either. Check to see if they do it.

Room Tip: Take 3rd floor..quiet and cheaper.

A totally different experience than Manhattan.
We stayed (2 people) at State street apartment 3F.Large enough for two people with a clean fridge, good bed and clean sheets. Not much space to park your suitcases.
I don't know when the apartment is renovated. On first sight it looks great but painting of door styles and bathroom was not a top job.Because of the wooden floors it can be noisy if you have the wrong kind of neighbours above you.( just tell them to consider this). We stayed here for ten days but there was no one who cleaned the room during our stay.We also had to ask for clean sheets during these ten days.
We had a good stay here because of it's tranquillity , the typical brownstone houses , many trees and the many subway stations nearby.

We come here regularly and love the convenience, safety, restaurants, Brooklyn Bridge access and ease of use. You have your own little fully furnished apartment. The building is large enough that you may be able to have friends and family book rooms at same time like we did.

Benjamin is great and always accommodating. Highly recommend . . . but please don't fill the place when I want to be there.

A friend, his two boys (aged 9 and 11) and me stayed in the Family Suite at Classon Road. The apartment was perfect for 4 people, with a cozy Living/Dining/Kitchen area. Rear, larger bedroom was spacious and comfortable for two adults. Everything was extremely clean and inviting. The neighborhood was fine for us, although non-urbanites may find it visually less inviting than it actually is. Good information book at the apartment, which led us to excellent nearby Outpost restaurant (great, hearty, fresh salads with patio in rear), and the new Cuban restaurant on Classon. Great local delis close by, too, for fresh sandwiches and food supplies. Explore the historic Clinton Hill neighborhood to the north and west.

The Top Parlour suite was HUGE. Two full bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. Place is impeccable and immaculate. Nice, comfortable bed, great AC(it was very hot) and good access to Subway. Also, don't miss the cafe Nero nearby.

Had a great stay in the Brooklyn Suites. Huge bedroom, great living room and kitchen area with all the mod cons. Service was extremely hassle free and I would heartily recommend it as a great value base for you stay in the Big Apple
