“Secret fishing hole!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Its like giving up your favorite fishing spot. Hard to do! When i first saw the place standing on the stoop. It was love at first sight i knew i had made the right choice. And i was not disappointed when i was let in. Mark and his staff were informative and helpful. It was close to local eateries and stores. And just blocks away from the subway system and also a beautiful park. Well there goes my secret fishing hole!

Before we even arrived in NYC, mark, the owner, was very hospitable and emailing us to give us information on getting from the airport and calling to arrange check in. They have several locations and the one we stayed in was on Lincoln rd. The location was good in that it was close to the subway station and was only about 25-30 minutes into times square, but it made it difficult to come and go, so once we left the room, we would be put for the whole day. There was also some trouble getting home late at night with subway closures for maintenance and sometimes would take 1 1/2 hours to get back! The room itself was lovely. It was nice and big with plenty of room. The bed was comfortable and the fridge, microwave and toaster was handy for a quick breakfast. It had a shared bathroom, but the other room was not occupied for most of the stay, so this was not an issue. All in all we had a great time and would definately stay there again

Oure first tripp to USA. Oure flight have a delay but Mark organized all for a pick up from the Airport. The room was all clean and nice and we sleep all nights perfect. The way to Mannhaten is not far and we see a lot of things in these 3 days.
Thanks to Mark again, and for next trip we booking again bye Lefferts!!!

I spent a single night in the Washington Suite, which is one of the Fort Greene apartments. My daughter and I shared a huge space with two rooms. The main room had a queen bed with a wonderful mattress, dresser, several mirrors, a beautiful fireplace and mantle, and a working air conditioner. The decorations were quite tasteful, and the large windows looked out on Fort Greene Park, which was just across the street. The second, much smaller room, was a cozy space with a twin bed perched atop an antique frame. Also in this room were a small refrigerator, coffee maker, an assortment of mugs, glasses, and plates, and an absolutely adorable sitting area, perfectly sized for the small space. We shared a bathroom with the guests in the adjacent suite. Everything was spotless and meticulously maintained.

I loved being directly across from the park. It was lively and bustling with people enjoying the running trails and open spaces, yet amazingly quiet. There was a nice farmer's market in the park on Saturday, which had every fresh goodie one could imagine.

I also loved the location of this property, which was convenient enough (about 1/2 mile) to the subway on DeKalb and within walking distance to restaurants.

I can't think of anything negative to say about my stay. Mark, who manages the properties, was accommodating and, we learned, attended the same free concert in Prospect Park that we attended on Friday night. There is a very nice, welcoming feeling of neighborhood and community in Fort Greene.

Was in town for several days doing research, and this was the perfect place to stay on a budget. I had a large, clean room that shared a bath with occupants of one other room. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping service and a working a/c. It's in a neighborhood of brownstones that make it a pleasant walk up the street to Flatbush Ave. Short walk to the subway and Prospect Park with lots of decent takeout/delivery around. Interesting fellow guests, and they serve a hearty breakfast each morning for an additional $10. The only downside is that breakfast was only served at 9 a.m., and I couldn't do that late a breakfast except on the weekends. But, a fridge and available microwave/plates/utensils made it easy to self-cater. Mark was the perfect host and thoughtful in every way. I'll be back!

Room Tip: Spent my last night in their second house one block down the street. The room was significantly smal...

Lefferts Manor Bed & Breakfast is wonderful...My husband, our 15 year old daughter, and I stayed there recently and loved it. Our room (the Fitzgerald) was beautiful with a very large cedar closet to put away all our stuff, a huge king size bed (a very comfortable one) with a day bed for our daughter (also comfortable). High ceilings—nice, airy, beautiful decor—with a very clean and nice shared bath down the hall. Mark, who is a gem, is very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay and would stay there again in a minute.

We checked in just for a day , if we had a chance to stay longer we would. Very nice location, it is conveniently close to subway (Q line) which can take pretty much everywhere you need in NYC. The place is comfortable, silent and the rooms have nice cosy look. Mark will help you to get around and provide an answer to any question. Also he helped us get a good taxi back to the airport. Don't hesitate to stay there you won't be disappointed.
