Fresh, airy, clean and hip hotel. The second you enter the lobby you immediately realize the staff is listening, they are ALL super friendly, courteous, and willing to go the extra mile to help you have a fab vacation. We intended to stay only 1 nite on our way to another destination. But we felt so relaxed and rejuvenated in this place that we stayed an extra nite just to continue relaxing! Absolutely loved the Keurig machine in the room. Don't hesitate to ask for extra K-Cups. The cork flooring added a warm, cozy feeling to the airy, large room. We didn't have time to use the bar in the room or in the lobby - but it is something we would have liked, had we had more days. We didn't mind the location at all - quite the contrary. Very safe and very central to everything. We walked everywhere and were not at all disturbed by street noise (that must depend on the room, and anyway, they are installing soundproof windows as we speak). Close to trains to Manhattan. But don't underestimate that you can have so much fun in Bklyn! Don't miss Montague Street (central downtown Bklyn) for cafes, epicurian foods, European ambiance, nice stores (I bought 3 pairs of shoes on sale at Aerosoles!). I recommend Irene Dinov hair salon on Montague if you want pampering.

While the hotel and room is nice the location is dreadful. It's on the corner of 2 busy roads and opposite a detention centre. The noise from the traffic and the cops is dreadful.

If sleeping is a requirement for your stay then avoid !

Hip decor, clean, neat and everything in working order. Liked having breakfast included in the price so we could eat and run. Felt it could a have been a bit more "polished " for the price, yet no complaints other than that. Loved the location. The staff was very courteous.

Room Tip: Try to get a room not facing the street, as you can hear all the traffic. Even with that, we slept w...

The hotel was really nice and the rooms a very pleasant surprise after Manhattan sizes! This was my 4th trip to NYC which have varied in budget and purpose over the years, it was my first trip to Brooklyn though and I must say that it was nice to be off the island but still so close to it.

The staff were lovely, the bed comfy, basic but good buffet breakfast, nicely styled with boutique style toiletries and mini bar snacks. 10 mins to the Brooklyn bridge and only a few mins from a number of subway stations...taxi was about 20USD from midtown/downtown.

Well recommended.

Thanks for the great review! We've been trying to convince everyone that Manhattan is now considered the outer borough to Brooklyn and you're helping prove that! The size of our rooms are definitely larger than most accommodations in Manhattan. Brooklyn is a bit more spread out so that was an easy decision when designing the hotel. We're glad we were able to give you a great experience on your first experience in Brooklyn! We hope to see you again soon!

Love the hip decor and colors of this boutique hotel at every level.
The room amenities are well thought out, especially those in the closet.
I had a room facing the courtyard, with a pretty view of sunrise on the 4th floor and a quiet exterior environment. The acoustic insulation inside the hotel though, is not the best, and it's quite easy to hear water heaters, nearby showers and flushing, as well as kids. Gym was very cool too!

The location is conveniently situated near Hoyt Schermonhonn station. Although NY subway is not the best in terms of facilities (there isn't even an elevator), and are notorious for being poor on hygiene, it offers quick access to Manhattan, without all the noise at night.

Friendly and casual front desk staff were always helpful any questions. The hotel served a very cozy and healthy breakfast - with ample supply of fruits, yoghurts, pastries, cereals boiled eggs, a range of milk (soy, skim, full). One day, my relatives came to pick me up from the hotel, and when we asked them how much extra it would cost per person for breakfast, they kindly offered complimentary breakfast to my relatives!

Room service is satisfactory. It's one of the few hotels I've been to that has tiled floors, which I personally think is the best recipe for cleanliness.

Loved it for it's decent price, decent location, tasteful decor and lovely staff!

Room Tip: Ask for courtyard room.

Spartan furnishings but everything was clean, neat and in working order. Bed very comfortable. For the money, the best choice in Brooklyn.

Thanks for the quick words on your experience! Yes, the hotel was designed with a minimalistic approach, however, special attention was made to the functionality of the rooms. I'm glad everything was in working order and you had everything you needed. We added some local Brooklyn artist art work to a few rooms to give it a little pop which has gone over well with our guests. We hope to have the entire hotel filled with original artwork by the end of the year. Come back and check us out then!

Impressive hotel-clean, modern, friendly, stylish. Great complimentary breakfast with lots of selection. Especially enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies each afternoon in the lobby after we returned from an outing into the city. Smith Street is an active, alive street with plenty of restaurants and shops--also very safe walking even late at night. We will definitely stay here again!

Thanks for the outstanding review! I'm very pleased you noticed our breakfast selection. We have worked really hard to upgrade our offerings throughout the year. We added fresh pastries delivered daily from our local Brooklyn Bagel Shop, fresh cut fruit and hard boiled eggs to name a few. The feedback has been positive and your review proves that. Also, the "Brookies" are here to stay! :)
