“Perfect spot for toddlers”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

This museum is perfect for toddlers. One of our favorites ( if not THE favorite) Children's Museum we visited this far.
I love the fact that they have Sensory gym ( open at designated hours) - and everything in the museum is created to support different stages of development to the fullest.
Its layout and content is designed in such a way that even the sensory challenged child will not be too overwhelmed.
They have several "sand boxes" ( one with the real sand, the other with some ground-cork's pits) , several real-water streams, pretend play places such as pizzeria, supermarket, etc, musical theater where they screen international dances performed by kids... They also have a nice "toddler corner" with the little play-area, art classes and little scientist water- corner .
Among several real-stuffed animals , they also carry exhibit a real parrots and real giant python -snake ! Aquariums with dif fish all over the place.
Our favorite room is botanical, communal garden room where we like to take our brake btw activities. It is super relaxing and brightly-beautiful.
Too bad that C Museum in Manhattan is not more like the one in Brooklyn.

“The Best Place for kids”

Great
Interactive exhibits. A mini version of a Brooklyn neighborhood. Stresses tolerance and diversity.

“Something fun for every kid”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We have been members of Brooklyn Children's since my son learned to walk. Every year he discovers new favorite things to do when we go. It's by far the best thing to do with little kids on a rainy or snowy day in Brooklyn... it will keep them happy for hours and hours without fail. The cafeteria serves a variety kid-friendly food and has some packaged kosher options and snack machines as well. A bit overpriced as can be expected but not exorbitant. The only drawback is the lack of parking, amplified by the fact that it's a bit of a sketchy neighborhood. If you come by car, either come early or bring an extra adult to park while you take the kids inside. By train, I recommend taking the number 3 or 4 train rather than the A or C if you have a choice. Generally speaking it's best to go earlier in the day, especially in bad weather, as it does get very crowded and some of the exhibits can become fairly ravaged by the afternoon. If you have an under-5 that likes water, bring an extra shirt to change into as there is a great but messy water play area. Has reciprocal membership with ASTM and ACM.
