Enjoyed everything I saw at the museum which included the exhibits by El Antsui, John Sargent Singer, and Judy Chicago's "The Dinner Party"

When visiting NYC step off the island and head for Prospect Park, Brooklyn. There is a lot to do in one day and you can walk to all of it once you arrive by subway or cab. The Botanical Garden, the park itself and the nearby historical homes of Park Slope can fill your day. The museum has plenty to see and plenty to enjoy. Check out the website for exhibits, late night hours and pay what you can days.

We came for a special exhibition of John Singer Sargent water colors, but there were lots of other things to see (as well as a large gift shop, with a good selection of gifts, books, jewelry, etc.). Definitely worth a half day, at least!

Defiently a must! The building in itself is worth visiting. Then the ancient Egyptian exhibit is worth seeing. When we went, mthey had a very modern exhibit which was so unusually attractive. There are some Rodin sculptures and much more...take at least four hours or a full day. We had a excellent lunch at the museum restaurant. Visit the museum store...I bought a glitche for reasonable price.

The Brooklyn Museum, a short hop from Times Square by Subway (2, 3), is one of NYC's greatest attractions, well worth the "suggested" admission of $12.00 - less than half the going rate of midtown galleries and musea. Judy Chicago's Dinner Party, an outstanding selection of American art and a superb special exhibition of John Singer Sargent's watercolours are well worth the visit. Wow!
