Owner description: Brooklyn's answer to Central Park, Prospect Park contains a zoo, an audubon center and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Its entrance is marked by the large Memorial Arch and it is a mecca for families and nature lovers who go to play ball, bird watch and listen to outdoor concerts.

Great Park when you visit Brooklyn heights. Full of life in the weekends with families , ballgames going on everywhere and other activities as music or small shows.

Beautiful park, pleasant place to walk or run or bike. Lefferts home was a bonus destination within the park, and only $3.00 admission.

It's not Central Park, but can be fun to walk around the huge park on Sundays, seeing New Yorkers at play. The park is somewhat rundown, but if u do go, you can grab something to eat int he food trucks at the entrance and take the food inside to eat.

Prospect Park is pound for pound, in many ways, nicer than Central Park. Both were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, but they did Prospect Park later, and seemed to improve on the Manhattan park's design. Its swooping hills are great for bicycling, and it seems to have a sense of green mystery, especially in the fog. With Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Park Slope and the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library all adjacent, it's a great location for an all-day excursion.

The loop road is 3.35 miles with some gentle hills, my favorite running route. The meadows are great for frisbee, outdoor studying, or relaxing with friends. The barbecue areas smell amazing every weekend day of summer. The ducks are fun to visit. What's not to love?
