“Great relaxation location”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

One needs to allow time to view and visit this excellent Botanical Garden - the different aspects are well laid out with ample wheel chair access. One is spoilt for choice as to where to spend the time. We were fortunate to visit whilst the Cherry Blossom trees were just flowering, having been informed by our Hotelier (thank you Mark for your local knowledge), as he had been there the previous week, prior to the blossom blooming . The scent from the flowering cherry blossom is outstanding and can be appreciated from all around the area. The Tropical glasshouse exhibits fine unusual plants with a special collection of Bonsai Trees with full detail history of each tree. After walking around the garden spending time to appreciate all the plants and flowers, with a fantastic Tulip display of all varieties - one will appreciate a nice sit down in the caffeteria with a good tea and coffee selection.

“rose that grew from concrete”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Like the Tupac said, a rose that grew from concrete sums up the botanic garden in the heart of Brooklyn.

The location is conveniently located. It is right off a train stop.

Check online for great deals during the week.

“Great especially on free Tuesdays”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The botanic garden is a relaxing space in Prospect Park, near the Brooklyn Museum. There are a number of different areas of the park, each with a different atmosphere. The vegetation is very varied, and the indoor greenhouses have a vastly different collection of plants.

“Worth going every week-- Always changing!”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

I go every Tuesday with my wife and kids (that's when it's free).
Especially in the spring, every week has new surprises. An oasis in the middle of the cement jungle.
