Owner description: Opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge provides passage between Brooklyn and Manhattan for motorists, trains, bicycles and pedestrians. One of the primary symbols of New York City, it is a marvel of design and provides spectacular views of the city's skyline.

The bridge itself is magnificent, and it offers views of the Manhattan Skyline, both North and South, as well as some aspects of the East River and of Brooklyn, but it is undergoing rennovation, so your view is somewhat hampered... be prepared. Access on the Manhattan side by the college is mared by a crude construction sign, keep a sharp eye out for it.

I feel every tourist that comes to NYC needs to check off the list all the free stuff the city has to offer with the Brooklyn Bridge being one of them. It's a great 1.5 mile walk with views of the Statue of Liberty and midtown. Construction on the bridge should be ongoing for the rest of the year.

there are not too many places where you get to walk across one of the most famous, and most beautiful, bridges in the world. an icon for more than 100 years, the walk across the bridge on an especially sunny day is a delight. even if the weather isn't too nice, the bridge adapts itself to any conditions. make sure to pause to marvel at the double arches, the views of manhattan and brooklyn, and the williamsburg bridge and the manhattan brdige. to learn the history of the construction of the brooklyn bridge, be sure to read "the great bridge", by david mccullough.

It's a real experience to walk the bridge and see the beautiful NYC skyline. Everyone has to do it at least once.

Walking over the historic Brooklyn Bridge is a thrilling experience in all seasons. I have walked it many times and I have always enjoyed it (even when I had no choice, like when we had a transit strike). Bring a camera, your paint set or pen ,whatever you need to do, to capture the beauty of the bridge and views. It also has information plaques about...well, go and find out. I highly recommend this attraction.
