I finally got to walk both ways over the Brooklyn Bridge and it was worth the wait. The views of Manhattan were amazing and likewise for Brooklyn.
I was a little unsure if it was a good thing for me to do on my own as don't have a good head for heights but this was not a problem. There was so much to see that I didn't even think about being over water and with the traffice running below and the views to capture on my camera there was just so much going on I didn't have time to think about it. You just have to remember not to wander into the bicycle lane for fear of getting run over or them yelling at you.
Once in Brooklyn I had a look around and it was nice and I walked down Montague St to the boardwalk with the fantastic views of lower Manhattan and you could also see the Statue of Liberty and Elli Island and the Staten Island Ferry.
I had lunch in a lovely little cafe 'Armando's' and it was a huge omelette with saute potatoes, toast and a mug of tea all for $11 and worth every one of those dollars.
Walked back over at a more leisurely pace and took in more sights and the temperature at this point was 89f once back in Manhattan headed to a Starbucks for a cool frappacino before heading back to my hotel.
Next time I visit New York I want to do this again as it was fun and had so many fantastic views.
