We stayed for 2 nights as part of a Holland cruisetour- had rooms on a high floor with a nice city view. Rooms are large, clean and renovated with comfortable beds- we did not have a fridge or microwave as others did but a good coffeemaker. Loved the blue glacier nightlight so much we bought one in the gift shop. Blackout drapes were handy given the less than 2 hours of darkness. The self-serve laundry came in handy. We ate breakfast and dinner here as part of a pre-purchased meal plan- $71 king crab was not excluded from the menu choices! The food was excellent and Joyce was the nicest hardest working waitress we ever had the pleasure of meeting. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed as part of a HollandAmerica Cruise tour. 2 words. Bugs. Mold.
The first impression when entering the room was that there must be mold in the A/C as the smell was overpowering. If that weren't enough, the window was not sealed to the wall. You could actually see outside in the space between the window and the wall. The bugs seemed to enjoy coming and going as they pleased. There was tissue stuffed in one of the holes by a prior guest in an effort to thwart the bugs. We arrived prior to noon, so we asked the front desk for a new room. They declined since they were sold out. It seemed odd to me that at 10:30am, every room would already be occupied. We were denied a new room again later in the evening, but promised a room change the following day. No follow up from the Front Desk meant we stay a second night in the smelly bug den.

Room Tip: There is a newer part of the hotel that appears, from the outside, to be nicer. Perhaps it is less...

As with the other reviewers, we stayed 2 nights at the Westmark Fairbanks while on a Holland tour/cruise. We were fairly pleased with our room even though we did not have a fridge, microwave and had to go to one of the "public" areas to access the free wi-fi. Nice gift shop and friendly staff. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant. BUT I do have one major complaint that did not surface until after we arrived home from our trip 10 days later. One of the services of this Westmark is that they will give you flat rate boxes and will mail packages for you from the hotel. I took advantage of this service and mailed one box home filled with some of the many souveniers we purchased in Alaska. I really expected this box to be waiting on us when we arrived home, but that was not the case. I tried to track the package, but there was no information for the tracking number the hotel gave me. I promptly called the Westmark and was told that my box was "still in the back". Had I been told that it would sit in the hotel more than 10 days, I would have taken the box to the post office myself. I was assured after a very heated discussion that my package would be sent off the next day. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since that box was mailed and I still have not received it. So BEWARE! Do not take advantage of this courtesy service unless you are willing to forfeit the items you leave for them to mail for you.

We stayed here overnight in July as part of a Holland America tour. Furnishings in the room were fairly new and we found our room very clean, comfortable and large. There was a fridge, microwave, sink, and table in a small kitchen area, a nice sized TV opposite two easy chairs and another TV in the area where the bed was. An easy walk to the "downtown" area (the blocks are short.) We ate in the bar and found the menu very limited and overpriced. We had the breakfast buffet in the restauarnt and found the food good and varied.. Cost was$16
We liked the giftshop and bought a few things. We also enjoyed a late checlk out of noon on this last day of our tour. Overall it was better than we had expected.

We stayed here on a Holland America tour. I was rather surprised by this place. The location isn't great but it is a nice hotel, at least in the part we stayed in. The restaurant is pretty good. The service was good all the way around. The room was nice and was clean. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: You want to stay in the part that includes the lobby and the restaurant.

After having a less than positive experience at the Westmark in Anchorage, I approached my stay at the Westmark Fairbanks with some trepidation. I should not have worried! This is a first class hotel that is well maintained and clearly focussed on customer service. Everyone greets you with a smile and is eager to help. The hallways are bright and cheery, and the rooms are clean, quiet, and modern. I had excellent wifi reception in the room as well. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to downtown shopping and sight seeing venues. Look no further than Westmark if you want a good value on a wonderful hotel in Fairbanks

The Westmark Fairbanks is on Holland Americans better hotels, central to town (5 min walk), rooms are very clean and spacious. We thought we were in heaven as this hotel had fridge to cool you drinks down, in fact this was the only Westmark that had one. The restaurants supplied quality meals in pleasant surroundings. The bed was comfortable and gave a good sound nights sleep. The only draw back there is no tea making facilities and you would think with the amount of English people traveling through it would be available.
