The rooms and exterior look nice but the carpet was stained, holes in the curtains, beds were overworn so lumpy! The service was excellent though! i was disapponted! It seemed like improvements were being made, but replace those mattresses!!

Very nice hotel, rooms were clean, decorated well but very small. Our second morning as we prepared an early departure we had a shocking good old fashion COLD SHOWER. The front desk answer was too many folks using the hot water. After for attempts of me telling the front desk that was not an answer the young lady finally said she was sorry.

Room Tip: Check room size and number of guest. You may get a cold shower if all the rooms are full.

This was our first experience of a Westmark Hotel, the brand owned and operated by Holland America. The drawback to this hotel was its location - in the old part of Fairbanks and far away from restaurants and shops. This meant that we had to eat in the hotel. The continental breakfast was okay and the servers were very friendly. The one dinner we ate there was quite good. Our room was on the third floor at the end of a corridor, and was quiet and comfortable. The one annoyance was that we had no internet in the room and had to share the business centre with hundreds of others while we all tried to receive our email.

The room is large and has a small kitchenette one could microwave popcorn ( if one could find it!).
There are two comfy armchairs and two TV's! The best feature for sleeping are the fully blackout drapes that completely cover the window. At this time of year when the sun sets at about 2am, the drapes are essential!

Sadly, the "buffet only" breakfast detracts considerably from the over all charm and class of the hotel. But that lead to the discovery of the Red Couch!

Anyone who has traveled in Northern Alaska knows that finding a nice hotel for a reasonable price is almost impossible. I was so lucky to find this hotel. The room was incredibly clean, well laid out and comfortable. The restaurant has great food and the staff was helpful and friendly. Unlike other reviewers, I found the water pressure perfect.
For those staying a while, there is a natural/organic market within easy walking distance. This is my new go to hotel for Fairbanks.

Room was huge with 2 tv's & a kitchenette. Only major complaint was water pressure. Easy walking distance to downtown. Gift shop had coffee bar with fresh baked goods & was open late. Room was a bit warm, but ac is not expected in this part of the world.
