Aurora Chasers, Marketa and Ronn Murray are THE REAL DEAL! - they are professional photographers who take the time to educate about the Aurora ... and to also teach each individual how to best photograph the Lights with either their own personal cameras or on ones they offer for rent. They have a true passion for Aurora Chasing - - it is felt by everyone in their presence! - their enthusiasm is extremely contagious!! We had the good fortune to join them for two different nights during a very cloudy and overcast week in Fairbanks - Due to their scientific knowledge, their contacts and networks around the area and their tremendous tenacity and true desire to find the Lights, our chances to find them were maximized ... We were blessed to see Lights both nights!! Dream come true x 2!! Truly, a spiritual experience!! Marketa and Ronn are lovely people who make you feel like family, and go all out to create the best experience possible ... and they do exactly that! They go the extra mile to accommodate each persons needs and to create an unforgettable experience. Beautiful memories!!
We look forward to joining them again on future trips to Alaska!

Ronn and Marketa were fabulous guides, knew as much about the northern lights as anyone, provided insight as to why we may or may not see the lights, and were great about explaining the best ways to photograph the aurora. For those of us without the requisite photographic equipment, we were able to rent from them for a fair price that included the camera with appropriate lenses, set up for aurora photography and the tripod…so all I had to do was provide the blank SD card and take the pictures.

If this was not enough, probably the most impressive aspect of the excursions were the lengths they went to find the aurora...due to circumstances that were fortunate for us…we ended up going out with them twice in our 8 day stay in Fairbanks. The first night (on a Tuesday), we went about 60 miles one direction from Fairbanks, and the second night (Friday) we went about 90 miles in a completely opposite direction...BOTH times we saw some amazing aurora displays!!! After hearing stories about how folks have gone out multiple times and never seen the aurora, I am convinced that if the aurora is there, Ronn and Marketa will figure out a way to find it. Sure, they may cost a little more, but definitely worth it!

If you want to give yourself the best opportunity to see one of the most amazing natural wonders of the world, check them out!

Ronn and Marketa are fabulous photographers and guides. They are extremely patient and are so knowledgeable about the Aurora and cameras, settings etc. I borrowed one of their cameras which was wonderful as it had the right lens and settings and I could just relax and experience the movement of the Aurora around me. It was a great night- Ronn and Marketa are so nice and make sure that everyone is having a great time. The tour was a dream come true for me. What makes their tour special is their commitment to providing the best possible experience for their guests.
You can't guarantee the Aurora to make an appearance but if it does, they will find it. Thank you!!

Ronn and Marketa stand above and beyond the other aurora-watching experiences I had during my visit to Fairbanks in March 2019. Their level of professionalism was fantastic in that they were prepared, they know what they are talking about in terms of the aurora phenomenon AND how to photograph it. They are able to make sure everyone, no matter their level of expertise, can set up their camera equipment to take the best photos. I wasn't prepared for how professional they would be - it was beyond my expectations and completely worth paying more than some other tours charge because they are pros, they love what they do, they really care about giving clients the best experience, and they take the time to help everyone and TEACH! On the night we went out, it was looking cloudy and it seemed like we would not be successful in seeing any aurora due to the weather. They never gave up! They made the experience the best it could be even though obviously people were a bit disappointed as it was getting late and it looked like we would not be successful (no fault of anything/anyone but the clouds!). They stopped and did some fun light painting with us and made it the best we experience we could get. As well, we had already learned so much on the way up there. They have a TV monitor in their very comfortable van and as we were driving they did two things: 1. educate us about the aurora and 2. methodically and clearly helped everyone get their camera settings perfectly set up before we even stopped anywhere. It was VERY helpful and well done. But the greatest thing that night was that they drove and drove (260 miles by the end of the night!) and constantly checked weather and aurora conditions and we ended up finding the one clear spot and spent probably about 2 hours there getting some amazing photos and having so much fun! And learning how to take great photos! Ronn and Marketa were just as excited as us customers were and they stayed out with us so we could see and photograph. We did not even get back to our hotels till around 6 AM! That is how dedicated they are. Other tours I went out with (because Aurora Chasers were fully booked) have to stick to a destination and a time to get back to the hotels. Ronn and Marketa are able to be flexible, really CHASE and find any aurora to be found and do whatever they can to find it (within the limits of mother nature cooperating) and to go the extra mile to stay longer (if needed) and make sure their customers have an exceptional experience. As an amateur but not beginner photographer, I appreciated the attention given to both the beginners in the group (some who didn't even have a camera and were borrowing from the Aurora Chasers) and others who had more experience and skill. The level of personal attention tailored to everyone, at all levels, in the group was awesome. Bonus points for it being obvious that they love what they do and got as excited about seeing the aurora not just for our sake but for the pure enjoyment of it themselves. I simply cannot say enough about the experience and yes it is DEFINITELY above and beyond what you can get with at least some of the other tours ( I can't say I tried ALL the others but I did end up going with a couple of others) and most definitely paying more for. The value for paying more is DEFINITELY 100% worth it in this case! I will for sure be back to Alaska and will for sure join them for more tours! Cannot recommend enough! :)

Ronn and Marketa were very thorough in preparing for the tour. They constantly were reviewing all the weather reports and forecasts to get us to the best location to view and photograph the Aurora. They were patient in explaining the science of the Aurora, the settings we needed to get the best photos, and assisting us to setup our photographic equipment. They advised us about what equipment to bring and what clothes to wear.
