This place has it all, a small museum, theatre that features area info, tons of literature and real people to help with all your questions. We were wanting some more info on Chena hot springs and we got more than we thought was there. They know about many trails that are not in the literature. This is a great starting point for your trip

Alaska is huge! Reading up about the state before arriving certainly helps but the welcome center helps one to focus on specific aspecks and activities

You need start no other place than the Morris Thompson CVC to plan your stay in Fairbanks. They have new exhibits that illustrate life in Alaska very well. They have a video that shows the transition of the seasons in Alaska that is magnificent. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. You really should stop by the CVC if you visit Fairbanks.

Fun way to get an introduction to Fairbanks and the Interior. Local residents are glad to share their knowledge, there's a couple of nice exhibits, and the place is growing. Museum of the North can be expensive for a family, this will give you a local flavor at no charge. And if you need maps etc - the BLM personnel and info is just out of this world!

Really a neat visitor center. The city has put a whole lot into this center. There are cabins outside, antler arches, and a whole detailed static walk thru on the inside. You can also pickup any information on any thing to do in Fairbanks. The staff here were great, you can tell they really love their city. Worth the stop.
