The staff was very helpful, accommodating, and polite. We could not get a riverside room on the 3rd floor and ended up on the river side on the 1st floor. They accommodated an early arrival. They also pay for a cab to/from the airport and train station. This can save between $10-15 per trip.
The room was a good size. It was modern and clean. The bed was soft (not firm) and the pillows were small and cheap, but the bedding was decent. The bathroom was a good size.
The hotel offers a wake up call option for the Aurora, but they did not call us so I can't speak to reliability (the aurora may not have been visible during our stay).
Wifi is free and worked well.
Microwave, fridge, flat screen TV and table with chairs.
Temperature control was ok.
Acai Berry toiletries were good.
Our first night was a little noisy and we did not sleep well. The second night was better, but still only ok.

Room Tip: Third floor away from the stairs and elevator on the river side

4 stars for our final room - 316 - clean, roomy, comfy.

1 star for our original room - 308 - smoky even though it's non-smoking and cramped, also right across from the elevator (since the doors are paper thin, you can hear everyone in the hall)

1 star for the staff (except the lady at the breakfast station) - they put us in a smoky room and didn't seem to care; when they moved us, they forgot to enter it into the system and so new guests got keys to our room and entered while we were in there; when we complained, they had a laissez faire attitude.

Stayed here on my way further north and couldn't have asked for more. The bed and linens were VERY comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable with fresh scrambled eggs. A 5-minute ride from the airport, the hotel has a deal with the local cab company to pickup your fare, but you need to call the hotel when you land.
I'll stay here again.

Spending three weeks in Fairbanks in February can be mildly unpleasant. It’s still awfully cold, fairly dark, and can just generally get a little tiresome. This hotel did more than its part to alleviate those issues. The rooms are clean, modern, and feature a decent sized flat screen television, microwave, and fridge, which all helped to make my extended three week business stay a little more bearable. It is conveniently located near a Fred Meyer and Safeway and is also a short drive from the airport and UAF. It’s on the other side of town from Ft. Wainwright, but it is an easy 10 minute straight-shot drive to get to the main gate. Breakfast, which is often the same thing day, after day, after day, at this type of hotel was a pleasant surprise as they did a good job offering a variety of hot items each day. The standard continental fare (eggs, cereal, waffle, etc) was always available and was accompanied by a rotating variety of sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, or a few other hot items. The staff was also friendly and helpful and it was evident that they had been well trained to make their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. The only issue I had with this place was that the high speed internet was a little spotty. It was fine for e-mail and work, but didn’t hold up to streaming video or other more bandwidth intensive activities. All in all, this is pretty much the nicest Best Western I’ve stayed at in Alaska.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations! We've used it mostly for 1-2 night stops. Service is so good- everyone has been really friendly (even at a 2 am check-ins)!

We loved:
Free wifi
Free breakfast with hot foods
The rooms are really clean and updated
Thermostat in your control
Microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge in the room
Free cab (to and from the airport) as long as you book with the staff
They were giving the hotel some touch up paint when I arrived this past time- bonus in my book that they were putting in the effort and no weird paint smells to boot.

We stayed here for a week on our trip to see the Northern Lights. Hotel was great. The rooms were large and clean and the staff were always helpful. We had a problem with our heater the first night and the maintenance man was very prompt in sorting it out, he even kept checking with us (when we were in reception) to make sure it was still running ok. The only thing about this hotel is the location can be inconvenient without a car. There is a Fred Meyer across the road (store has everything, even hot food) within walking distance, otherwise everything else required transport. We did use the town bus from Fred Meyer but often it was just too cold. Catching taxis was never much fun as they always took so long and often were stolen from us! This is one thing the hotel could have helped with when ordering the taxi, tell them our names so another guest cant come down claiming to have called it! Other than that, highly recommend this hotel.

The location was good and the rooms clean and comfortable. It was a pity that the staff were so inefficient!
Our stay was average but we had three issues with the hotel that impacted our satisfaction, namely: 1. We called Britt when we arrived at the airport and she promised to send the taxi to collect us. We waited almost 2 hours and had to call 3 times before we were collected because the staff were busy having their Christmas party and the guests were treated as an inconvenience. 2. The staff don't read the Make up room sign and mistake it for a Do not disturb sign and the housekeeping staff leave at 12pm so no hope of having your room serviced! 3. The breakfast is minimal and guests are allowed to take all the yoghurts and pastries upstairs for a room occupied by 2 people.
The manager, Shalanda Rosemond does not bother to respond to your concerns. Don't expect any level of service at this hotel.
