Al and Verna were great hosts! First, we arrived after 11pm and Al picked us up at the airport. Since our stay was short, he gave us a quick tour and some local history. Second, they made a lovely breakfast early the next morning and then Al drove us to the railroad station. Such a great service and made the start of our trip smooth and easy!
The B&B itself is simple and comfortable. We felt like we were staying with family. We were in one of the rooms in the main house. There is a shared bathroom with one other room; however, we had the place to ourselves for the one night. Would return in a heartbeat for an extended stay if we get back to Fairbanks!

Verna & Allen provide travelers with a cheerful, comfortable respite from the road. Close to downtown Fairbanks, this bed and breakfast features a great bed in which to sleep & a tasty breakfast. The proprietors are friendly and provide guests with maps & loads of local information. The property is designed to provide both areas for guests to converse as well as privacy.

Look around to discover the many pieces of Verna's stained glass art. Between Verna & Allen, they have many strong connections within the area & can give you good direction for attractions & food.

Room Tip: Wide selection in several buildings. We had a double in the main house with a shared bathroom. Very charming. All the small details to make our stay comfortable considered.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was a great value. It's a romantic little place conveniently located. But the real story is how Allen went above and beyond the duty of an innkeeper. Upon driving to Alaska from New York City (you read that right) we arrived in Fairbanks with a bit of car trouble. Allen heard the engine noise and immediately found us a mechanic nearby. When we were told it would take a week to fix, Allen, whose Inn was already booked for that time, got on the phone and found us the best price from his competitors! When that ran out he did something really grand, he put us into his personal guest room in the loft above his garage and charged us almost nothing until our car was ready. He and Verna really took care of us during a difficult time. When we were finally ready to leave for the lower 48, Allen said (I'm not making this up) that if we had any trouble within the next 500 miles he'd come and get us. People like that are what makes traveling around the world a beautiful experience. We'll never forget the Downtown Log Cabin B&B and the guy who went out on a limb to take care of us. Thanks a million, Allen.

One of the best stays of my monthlong trip allover Alaska. The couple ruling this awesome B&B is very helpful and personal and creates a comfortable atmosphere. Be sure to be there during Raspberry season :)
And remember: You have you're own apartment, isn't that great?
