The McKinley Explorer train from Anchorage to Fairbanks is wonderful. The seats were comfortable with lots of leg room and the view from the domed windows incredible. The "gift shop" was really tiny but I did manage to buy a couple of things.
Meals - had one of each on while traveling. Breakfast and lunch were good but dinner was Excellent. For some reason dining is just more fun on a train. And the good news is that the food was no more expensive than any other restaurant in Alaska.
