This is not a very big museum, but there is a lot of good information there. We did the Aurora movie which was fantastic. It’s all the science about it but explained in a mostly understandable way with good visuals. Great way to spend a few hours.

We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the UA Museum of the North. The movies currently showing were both produced by the Museum. Visitors should definitely try to catch the showings of Dynamic Aurora and Expedition Alaska: DInosaurs which both run around 30 minutes.

The Museum of the North is an interesting way of getting to know a little bit of Alaska in a single visit. It comprises the history of the state in very creative and well documented ways. Good for all ages.
The building and sunset scenery is a must see also.

We appreciate your review and visit to the UA Museum of the North. UAMN is definitely not to be missed for visits to Fairbanks. In the winter we offer quite the oasis away from the subzero temperatures.

This museum was one highlight of our Fairbanks stay in July 2019. It has exhibits covering indigenous peoples, the environment and natural wonders, and industries (whaling, fishing, etc.). There are Natural History exhibits featuring animals and wildlife; exhibits addressing the challenges of survival in such a harsh climate (historically and in modern times.) The UAMN also has a wonderful art collection, featuring both Alaskan themed content and Alaskan artists. Very impressive! Worth planning time to enjoy (an afternoon to full day).
