“Fun place with something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Good place to visit during the summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day when everything is open. The park has something for every age from playgrounds to historic buildings and a restored steam railroad that circles the park. The costs are reasonable for the activities.

“Pioneer Park in Winter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

There wasn't much going on because of winter but it was still worth a walk through. Not many people and thus a good opportunity for photos. Would like to go back in the summer time when everything is open.

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

During our visit, the park was only open because it was the Arctic Winter Games. We were able to visit all of the museums for free also which is a good thing. I would have been very upset if we had paid admission to any of the attractions there as they were old, smelly and unorganized. Do not waste your time or money on this place.

“Compare apples to apples, please”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

I think people here tend to compare apples to oranges ... This place is neither Disneyland nor a street mall, it's something different in the middle.

First off, is park is big enough to walk around, it has some historic structures and objects brought in and a pioneer museum. And all of that is free and open all year around. So it's a nice way to spend a few hours just walking around and checking out those things.

Second, they have some mostly seasonal businesses, they are not Disneyland grade by any means but be reasonable, this is a town with less than 100 000 people, so it's a perfectly fine attraction for that scale.

Also, it's located on a river bank and close to a park, so you can stretch out your walk easily.

Overall, this is one of the best places in Fairbanks to spend a few hours outside.

“lots of local history”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

This is clearly designed as a kids' place for summer fun. A little hokey but still very interesting even in winter when covered in snow with the shops closed. It's like a model pioneer town. But they've relocated real pioneer homes to the park. The museum is very interesting. Not the first or only place we would go but worth a visit if your stay is long enough. And definitely if you are in Fairbanks with kids in the summer.
