“Wonderful, B&B”

We decided to stay in Fredericksburg because our son was at the Scout Jamboree. We ended up at the Schooler House because it was avaliable. Wow, did we luck out! It is a very quaint historic home a few blocks from great shopping and restaurants. If you love antiques and Civil War history, Fredericksburg is for you. The Schooler House was great, Andi, the owner is kind, helpful and a top-notched proprietor. Our room was lovely, the bed comfortable and the bath large. Each morning breakfast was served in the formal dining room yet had a very at home feel. We were treated like important people!! Andi has decorated her B&B (home) with fabulous antiques. We would definately stay there again, in fact we hope to! You won't go wrong in this lovely B&B.

We stayed at Andi Grimsley´s only one bedroom B&B, which has its own bathroom and is separated by a glassdoor from the private quarters. Not only the bedroom, but the whole house is decorated with personal items
which gives the place a homely atmosphere. You feel free to use the tiny garden in the rear or sitting in the porch in the front of these enchanting house. The breakfast is on the healthy side. If you want to enjoy southern hospitality, that is the place.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Built in 1891 for Mary Schooler, The Schooler House provides guests with an opportunity to live like a Victorian. The home is a true B&B, with 2 rooms, each containing a queen-sized bed, twin sofa bed, bath en suite, gas fireplace, tv, spa robes, and period antiques. The Parlor is a wonderful spot to enjoy the Victorian furniture and pieces, including young ladies autograph books, written in a style and manner from the past.A full breakfast is prepared and served around a Sheridan 3 piece dining room table. The dishes and silver are all over 100 years old, as are many of the serving pieces. In the Winter, the fireplace keeps our guests cozy. The front porch is a great place to watch the town go by. The Trolley and Carriage Tours stop in front of The Schooler House while showing The Rising Sun Tavern, directly across the street. The gardens are full of perennials, carefully selected for their Victorian feel and look. The 1900 corregated metal garage is converted into a lovely garden room for afternoon naps, reading, wine sipping, and just listening to the waterfall in the adjacent pond. For a true Victorian experience where service is our goal, The Schooler House, consistently rated 5 Stars, is the place for your Fredericksburg experience. ... more   less
