“Seafood quick and inexpensive”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

This is a local hang out that's away from old town. If you want to get cheap gas, and a few toiletries at CVS drug store for your trip they're all located together. Some nights the kareoke at the separate bar area draws a local crowd, some from Mary Washington university and other locals. These folks tend to be very friendly and will cheer any serious kareoke singer.

“Steamers not just seafood.”
Reviewed October 2, 2013 via mobile

While the seafood is very good the rack of ribs is also very good and allot more ribs on your plate than any place else in the area. Sign up on there website and get food coupons. It has a bar but it is totally separate from the dinning area so you don't have to listen to the drinking crowd.

“Steamer's is a treat!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Rum Rudder Drink was large, tasty and potent ($8.99)! Beer was cold and tasty. 1/2 lb Angus Burger was cooked as ordered, very tasty; came with 2 very fresh slices of tomato and a nice fresh piece of lettuce! French fries came with the burger; fries were hot and tasty. 1/2 pound of shrimp were of good size, nicely spiced; tasted very fresh. Oysters on the half shell - some were a bit on the small side; but thoroughly enjoyed them. Oysters came on a bed of ice, with cocktail and horseradish sauce & lemon slices. Chuck is the best waiter ever!

We will be back!

“It's on our "keeper" list, good food.”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

First time visit after a warning from a friend; I'll have to have a talk with that boy sometime......
The decor is akin to Joe's CrabShack, but local. Fun decor, very relaxed atmosphere.
Our server was Kimberley. Attentive, a little forgetful, apologetic, sweet. Wouldn't fit in to a high end restaurant, but a great fit here.......
We started with fried pickles, and weren't disappointed. The order was much larger than I imagined (made for a good late night snack!). Nicely breaded, not too salty.....
I had the broiled crabcakes. Very nicely seasoned and cooked. Not the crabcakes of my memories growing up in Maryland, but the best I've had for a long time; definitely the best I've had in Virginia (always on the lookout for a great one).
The wife had the fried oysters. After the disappointment she had elsewhere, she's a happy camper now. We were skeptical that these truly were fresh, but they certainly were, and very nicely cooked. The only disappointment was that she'd ordered the dozen, but got six. As I said, our server was a little forgetful; but apologized profusely and the bill was corrected before we saw it.
The HushPuppies were tasty too; we were too full to try any desserts.
