The food is very good and the service is quick and well done. The atmosphere could be a little more romantic as the tables are very close together, we always end up having a conversation with people next to us so if you like that sort of thing, it's perfect.

A nice filet in the cozy dining area of the bar. Lots of character and the Bernaise sauce with their traditional side of scalloped potatoes is a sinful delight. The ambience of the restaurant section can't match the pub-like bar. Have a glass of wine and wait for a table.

If you happen to be in Fredericksburg, VA, this is a little gem tucked away in the center streets of town. Street parking maybe tricky. However it is easy to navigate into the restaurant where there is a small dining room to accommodate private parties, a somewhat larger bar area with red and white checkered tablecloths and a large dining area with a cottage-like atmosphere. Wait staff are very cordial and don't hover yet are very aware of where you are in your dining experience. Our waiter described the specialty items in detail and when we asked for a small side Caesar salad he offered to create one, even though it wasn't on the menu. The luncheon menu offers salads, sandwiches or entrees with daily specials and desserts. A varied wine menu is also available. Our food selections didn't disappoint. This is a great location to catch your breath and relax while having a conversation without competing with other diners or background music.

Once past the ordering of a Kir (the server didn't know what it was), the rest of the evening was pleasant. The Kir arrived and was actually very good. We also ordered glasses of wine which sat on the bar within our view for quite a while before our server finally brought them to us. Foodwise, we were satisfied. The smoked trout appetizer was delicious and was almost big enough to be a small meal. Our halibut and flounder entrees were fine. The restaurant is cozy, and we felt comfortable there.
