“excellent museum to learn about Monroe”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Definitely take the time & effort to see this small museum & get to know more about our 5th President. Ask the guide for a free tour & it's worth it. We learned more from the guide than the museum itself. It's not a destination by itself but if you are in the area seeing the other sites, take the hour & come & see it. You won't be disappointed! Small but interesting & educational. Worth the $5 admission fee.

“Little place...but worth it, if visiting Montpelier is on your ajenda.”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Small local 'museum' ...not a primary destination. Visit if you have time...but do not miss James & Dolly Madison's now restored "Montpelier" ..... if traveling any where near Charlottesville, VA [Jefferson's Monticello].

“Beautiful collection of Monroe era furnishings”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Learned a lot about Munroe's connections to Williamsburg as a young man. A true statesman and patriot. Wonderful collection of furnishings and memorabilia. Informative guides.Very small gift shop.

“Small but informative”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

We enjoyed a brief tour by a very informative lady. There is alot to read but not much to actually see. Monroe did not actually have his law office here. We enjoyed learning more about our fifth president as he was very important in many aspects of our history, including the Louisiana Purchase
