“Life is slower here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

Take a stroll through history. Take the trolley tour. If its' the weekend visit the Farmer's Market at Hurkamp Park. So many choices for a coffe and a meal. Beautiful old homes. Homes on display for Garden week in the spring or CandleLight Tours for Christmas. Tons of antique/junk shops. HIstory around every corner. Check the Thursday paper for weekly events, concerts and walks. I live here so I admit to having a preference.

“Plenty of history here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2012

I love walking anyway, and it was fun to walk along and then find a placque on a building or an informational placque on the street telling you about what happened on that spot. I don't have patience for endless tours or museum speeches, so this was exactly the correct portion of information for me!

“Unspoiled”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2012

The downtown is still relatively unspoiled, not a lot of shops but also not a lot of tourist. Relaxful atmosphere.
