Great reviews from local diners, but this is no Masa or even one of the better Roy's franchises in some of the major cities. Menu is designed for every taste from very acceptable Chinese standards such as the perennial chicken or beef with broccoli to Thai noodle dishes. You know, the standard fare at Asian eateries serve to please the masses. And, please the masses is what they do very, very well. The highlight, of course, is sushi from the fancy speciality rolls that most folks favor to sashimi the traditionalist savor. I learned that most of the sushi fish is sourced from commercial sources that specialize in sushi grade fish, a good thing. This is supplemented with some local fresh fish. The sushi chef could not tell me if their source uses only deep frozen tuna from Japan that is favored some upscale establishments. Deep freezing, it is said, kills any parasites present in the flesh. After sampling a few items, I would rate the food good with no surprises and the sushi as good to very good. Servers are pleasant and helpful. Cleanliness is good, but not great. Decor is basically ponderosa-steak-house modern with formica-type tables with serviceable seating. Prices are modest big-city and probably in keeping with local competition. Recommended, but don't expect world-class food for it is just solid fare with no surprises.
