The food was good, not great. Service was good, again not great. No frills. It was restaurant week - when you think a restaurant will really shine, it didn't meet up to my expectations or the hype of the online community. Our three course meal was not worth the $20/pp - one crab cake a dollop of spinach, rice, a watery salad and a tiny piece of poundcake with a tiny scoop of melted ice cream. Pair that with cheap twisted silverware and rickety "charming" furniture and - really Mike and Jake need to try a little harder!

Stopped for quick lunch in this little Restaurant. What great food and the best service in Fredericksburg. I had spinach salad with seared chicken. My husband had a steak and cheese - made with turkey. I had a bite it was delicious! It was clean and neat. The focus is food and it shines!

...and that's quite a compliment because Fredericksburg has several very good brunch places. However, none of them have the friendly, casual atmosphere of Jake & Mikes. In fact, when you first walk in you might assume that this is a "scrambled eggs and home-fries place but far from it. A spinach-goat cheese omelet, several sea food dishes and excellent french toast. If you skip the alcohol but go heavy on the coffee and OJ, bruch here is about $15. per person, no cheap but a great place to treat yourself when you want to enjoy a good brunch.

We enjoyed a nice relaxing brunch at Jake & Mike's - nothing fancy or frilly, just a nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and good food. All three members of our party looked at the menu and settled on the same thing - Tomato, Spinach and Goat Cheese Omelet with Home Fries. It was a very generous sized omelet loaded with fresh spinach, diced tomato and creamy goat cheese - exactly as advertised. It was perfect for a light meal.

I am looking forward to going back for lunch or dinner and trying what else they have to offer.

I enjoyed the food and the menu, not the cheapest place in town but worth checking out!
