“Not disabled friendly”

Looking forward to walking around cemetary but had to climb a mountain of steps to get there. The visitors center was easy to find but also required steady legs to see everthing.

“Enriching”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

While there is only a relatively small portion of this battlefield still in existence one can imagine what it must have been like for the Union soldiers wasted by its incompetent commander, General Burnside. The film in the visitor center was well done and informative.

“Informative”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

As usual the museum was excellent and the film put everything into context which, as Brits was important as we didn't have much knowledge about the civil war. We did the walk and looked at the battle sights and the cemetery which even in the rain was good. Well worth a stop.

“Battlefield”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Go, watch the movie, walk the grounds, especially along the Sunken Wall. The Civil War never seemed so close.

“Great Civil War Site”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

The Fredericksburg Visitors Center is a good place to start. You can watch a film and get a Ranger guided talk about the battlefield. It is very informative and one of the fields where you really can visualize what happened. There are a whole cluster of sites within driving distance: Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania that are all worth visiting. This was my second visit to the Fredericksburg Battlefield and it was well worth a second look. It would be worth a visit to the Chatham Mansion before going to the Battlefield as that was the Union Headquarters for the battle.
