My husband and I spent 2 nights in Fredericksburg at the Colonial Inn at the end of September 2003.
This is a really lovely hotel and very good value. Our room was big and had a king bed. It was nicer than the pictures on the website! It was well furnished with antiques. The bathroom was small but adeqate and everything was spotlessly clean. We had a fridge in our room but no coffee maker. Breakfast was included in the price although this was just tea, coffee and juice with cereal and cake. Everyone eats at one big table and the morning papers are available to read.
This hotel is about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the old historic centre but this was not a problem as the walk was very pleasent. It was a long walk from the railway station with our bags and we had to get a taxi to the bus station when we left as this was to far to walk but it only cost about $6.00.
