I have stayed over at the Inn a few times in the past and enjoyed it very much (quaint accomodations, antique furnishings, pleasant staff). On Mother's day My Lovely (soon to be) Bride enjoyed Luncheon from the menu in the Dinning Room. All of the food was very good and the staff was gracious. The Crab Bisque was absolutely fantastic and yes, sensual, especially with the taste of Sherry that had been included in the recipe. I will visit this establishment many times in the future.

I'm glad I didn't read the previous review before going out to dinner.
We went with a party of 8 (4 of them children) and found the experience wonderful. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious. Their award-winning soups were the highlight of our meal. They were unique and tasty. The history of the restaurant is on the menu. I will be returning soon for their outdoor patio dining experience. Enjoy!

One would expect a dinning experience from a well known establishment would be the highlight of one’s weekend. Unfortunately our party of 5 found it to be less than one would expect from an Outback Steak House or for that matter Denny’s. Reservations were at 7 plenty of time to dine then venture downstairs to the Pub for after dinner entertainment which started at 9. Service was slow and at times we felt we were being ignored by our server. Many times our server was no were to be found when at all times our glasses were empty. We order Steaks, 4 medium well and 1 well done. When the food finally arrived the steaks were all well done. The server seemed very nervous and confused. I felt the steaks were flavorless and tough.
The pub was the highlight of the evening with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service, much better then the fancy side of the establishment.
Next time we will skip the high brow dinner and settle for the pub.
Disappointed in Virginia.
