“Great Hotel, Great Service, Great Stay, but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2009

We were in town for a week's vacation. The hotel was great, having just been renovated. The staff for the most part was phenomenal. If i needed anything, it was there asap. However, one of the managers tried to reprimand my children for running in the halls. While I realize my boys should not have been running, I would rather have had her come to me directly. My kids were very upset, and when I spoke with the front desk, they apologized and offered to let me speak with a manager. Later in the week, my boys pointed out the woman who "yelled at them" in the lobby. When I spoke with her, and learned her name was Amy, she was very rude and didn't really acknowledge my concerns. Overall though, it was a great place to stay.

We traveled to Boston to see the Red Sox play at Fenway and also see Boston. While this hotel is located in the suburbs of Boston it was perfect for a family traveling on a budget. this hotel was at least half the price of the hotels located downtown. We purchased 7 day passes on the Boston transportation system and were able to get anywhere we wanted to go very easily. There is a tram stop at the corner just outside the hotel. The room was adequate for what we needed, a place to lay our heads at night. We did not use the pool, nor see anyone else using it. We did eat at the breakfast buffet one morning and wouldn't necessarily recommend it but otherwise found the accommodations to be very nice for the price.

This was our fourth stay at this hotel and I think it was the best. The staff is great, the room was clean and quiet. It was an unexpected treat to get vouchers for the breakfast buffet since I was a priority club member. The cookies in the evening were wonderful.

We were pleasantly surprised by what a gem this hotel turned out to be! From the friendly bartenders to the fantastic location, we couldn't have been more pleased. It was a lovely walk to Fenway (less than a mile!) and just a few blocks from the beautiful main streets of Brookline. The Green Line was directly across the street for when we wanted to go downtown -- so convenient! Our room was a bit on the small side, but we weren't there to sit in the room, so it served us just fine. All in all, for the location and price, it was a great deal. If we ever return to Boston, we would definitely stay here again.

Our host Star was amazing. When I told her how bad Expedia treated us, she upgraded our room, found parking for our huge box truck and got us great rates for the week. We couldn't be more pleased. Especially with the location, which is walkable to Fenway and lots of great dinning / shopping etc.

I stayed here with my partner over St. Paddy's day weekend...It was my first time ever staying in a Holiday Inn. I was expecting it to be kind of "dumpy," as we usually stay in 4 star hotels like the Omni Parker House. However, despite the construction (and resulting messiness) in the hallways (new carpet had just gone in) our room was very clean and nice. Our bathroom sink was unfortunately clogged when we got there, so a maintenance man was promptly sent up. He tried to clear the drain, was unsuccessful...I told him we were in a hurry and he said he was going to try and move us to a better room. Not five minutes later he escorted us (with keys in hand) to a suite on the 2nd floor. It was also very clean and very spacious...huge bathroom, fridge, microwave, two tvs, etc.
I think the people who worked there made the experience what it was. The maintenance man who advocated for a room switch on our behalf, the two women who gave us directions over the phone when we got lost getting to the hotel, and the friendliness of the front desk in general. We definitely would stay there again...and GREAT location!!

My husband was having a total hip replacement at Brigham and Women's hospital and was scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM. Monday morning. We arrived at the hotel to check in and received a warm welcome and wonderful service. Monday morning we got a wake up call for 4:30 AM, drove to the Hospital and once my husband was settled off to surgery, returned to the Hotel to have a wonderful breakfast and rest to wait for the Doctor's call. Once we got the call we could visit him, we took the complimentary shuttle to the hospital. We stayed thru Wednesday and took the shuttle back and forth to the hospital several times. The service was excellent. At a time of stress and concern for our ordeal, we couldn't have been treated with better comfort and service. From management to maid service it was a top notch experience.
