Before I get into it, I want to point out that the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Everyone was really great, and tried to fix problems as soon they arose. Unfortunately, there were a few problems. The main issue with this hotel is that the rooms (not in the tower) are in a long circle around an atrium. This looks nice but is terrible for a hotel because any small noise is amplified and travels. The first night we stayed, the heater in our room was broken (this is problem in New England in November); after calling the front desk, someone was sent to fix the heater and when that proved impossible, extra blankets were sent. However, at 6:30 the next morning, I awoke to the sounds of the breakfast buffet in the atrium below the room. It seriously sounded like the busboy station was in the room with us. When we asked to be switched to another room away from the breakfast area, the staff immediately gave us a room towards the back of the hotel, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately this room was directly above the indoor pool (only a few feet away), and the next night there was quite a bit of noise from guests who apparently did not realize that the pool closes at 9pm for a reason. Again, we called the front desk and it was taken care of. The room itself was nice and clean, the staff was fabulous, and I feel bad not giving a better rating, but the poor design of the hotel is really problematic. I should also note that we chose this hotel because it was the only somewhat affordable hotel in all of Boston, so I do appreciate that this hotel doesn't try to price gouge like the rest of the city.
