Description: Barcelona meets Brookline, and a sophisticated Boston neighborhood has a wine bar to call its own. A historic town located minutes from downtown Boston, Brookline is the perfect mixture of urban and country living. From large estates and recreational parks to boutiques and pedestrian-filled streets, Brookline offers a city atmosphere in a suburban setting. Located in Washington Square at 1700 Beacon Street, Barcelona is the newest addition to this lively neighborhood dining destination. A mix of antique wire glass, steel and reclaimed wood gives our newly built space a vintage appeal. The rustic, polished environment is the next best thing to eating tapas and drinking wine in our restaurant's namesake city. With hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spacious patio, the space has a European charm which fills the menu as well.

“Wonderful tapas and more!”
Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

We came here for the tapas, which were varied and delicious, but we also shared the paella marisco, which was excellent and plentiful. The service and decor are great as well. One of the managers came over and was very gracious. It is convenient to the T green line, so getting to Fenway from here is easy and fast.

“Great spot”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Came for a girl's night out, very nice waiter who gave us a free tapa and tokens to come again. Sangria has a great kick and the atmosphere is classy and fun. Definitely make a reservation, it was packed on a Wednesday night!

“Always had fun with friends there.”

Went there twice with the same friend who is a pro in wine. We were never disappointed at the food and drink. Also the bartender was always helpful providing suggestions. In the summer, the outdoor seating is very nice indeed. Get there early or make reservation, as it can get very busy and crowded.

“A very nice tapas place”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Great wine list and delicious tapas. The only negative thing about the place - unfortunately common in the tapas restaurants nowadays - was that the tapas are too big (and accordingly too expensive). The whole point of tapas is to be able to eat several different ones. In this restaurant, if you order three tapas, you might seriously consider a doggie bag for the third one.

That said, the mushrooms were delicious, the meat merely good, and the shrimps quite outstanding. They also had very good bread.

“Absolutely Wonderful”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

I rarely rave about anything but I am ecstatic that Barcelona opened in Brookline! Not only is there nothing like it in the area, it's also quickly becoming one of my very favorite places in Boston. Brookline seriously lacks places like this though it has a young and professional crowd that obviously craves this type of atmosphere. The vibe is very energetic and fun while also being intimate at the same time, and the food and wine are fantastic. Service is really great from the wait staff to the bartenders. I live only a 10 minute walk away so this has been a regular spot since the opening and I've never been disappointed. One of my favorites was when we had just sat down and the manager walked up and said they just got in a fresh catch of mackerel and if we would like one grilled, a few minutes later they were all snatched up. You just don't see that in many places. I'll keep coming back over and over again.
