Rubin's is not a fancy place, but it has very good deli food. It is strictly Kosher, which means, of course, that you should not plan on eating at Rubin's on Friday night or Saturday.(and Jewish holidays).

Rubins Kosher Restaurant was the very first place we went upon arriving in Boston. It is a New York style deli that has both waiter service and a deli counter. The menu is varied but expensive, even for kosher. Even so, everyone in our family enjoyed their meals. I had a great turkey wrap, and my parents had a pastrami sandwich and a burger. The waiter was not particularly attentive, and we waited quite a while to order our food, but that was understandable considering how busy they were (every table full, mostly Harvard students and their families). It's also a couple minutes from the Prudential Center, so we were able to enjoy our kosher lunch and head right to the excellent Skywalk Observatory.

Delicious Kosher deli and very pleasant staff wanting to please customers. The corned beef was very good and exceptionally lean and the french fries were the best we have had in the Boston area. The tuna salad sandwich was also very tasty and fresh. We definitely recommend this deli, especially if you keep kosher. It was pricey, but that is expected for a Kosher deli.

Located on Harvard St. in Brookline, this is probably the best choice for those who eat kosher. large east european menue, reasonable quality, excellent service, prices are ok. make sure you come early as they close around 9am.
