Just ate there.

I had a black bean burger: this was a large but mushy home made burger served on a very bland white roll with a relish, pickle, and coleslaw. The pickle was good, everything else was bland and the burger had no texture. $12.50.

My wife had a tongue sandwich. Small pieces of rather dried up tongue ends served on square commercial seeming rye bread. With the same coleslaw and pickle. $13.00

Cup of tea: $2.50.

Service our waitress was perfunctory and clearly just doing this for a living. The young man who greeted us was warm, but takes more than that.

The free bagel chips were excellent. Would leave it at that.

You know your at a hot-spot when there is a line out the door ( no other local place had a line) and their is an outside speaker for calling your name.Yes, we waited 40 minutes for a table, interestingly enough they told us a 40 minute wait and it was - to the minute. The wait is worth it. An extensive menu, good sized portions with fast and efficient service. I lobe the chunks of carrots and chicken in the Matzo ball soup and i enjoyed the corn beef hash. M wife loved the tuna fish though the potato salad had a bit to much onion. I like the crispy bagel with cream cheese delivered to every table - I wish they offered the varied spreads to every table as I longingly looked at jam at the next table. Of special note; we had one person in our party with a peanut allergy. The waitress made sure to tell the kitchen and a manager came out too ensure we knew they took the allergy very seriously but wanted to know some menu items have peanut ingredients. They handled this situation very well and we very appreciative.

Nice restaurant with varied menu. Nice breakfast and brunch food. Had chicken soup which was very good. Corned beef on rye was somewhat dry and the rye bread was ok at best. Had a 30 minute wait, with virtually no waiting area and was 20 degrees outside. Service was a courteous, but a bit slow, but restaurant was packed. People in my party thoroughly enjoyed breakfast meals, but I would try something other than the corned beef on next visit.

Ate there twice as a family during a Christmas visit to Brookline. Both times the deli was quite busy, but the service was friendly and quick. Coffee quite good. Banana stuffed French Toast well worth an order (any time of day). Pancakes tasty, but will totally fill you up. Lovely ambiance.

Carol and I had brunch here on Saturday, our 2nd day in the Boston area. We both had the San Francisco Joe's special. What a pleasant surprise, quite tasty and filling. The melted asiago cheese on top was a bonus touch.

Service was great despite being busy on a Saturday.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
