It was interesting and has special exhibits from time to time that are worth seeing.

Seems to be open only for a few months a year, was neat to walk around building but a little dissappointed I couldn't go in

We had stayed in Brookline over night and before going downtown we wanted to see JFK's birth house. We knew it was going to be closed (opens May 20) but it was literally around the corner from our B&B so we went anyway. After standing on the house's porch, reading through the pamphlet we had picked up, a very nice park ranger (lady) opened the door. She told us that the place is not open yet but if we gave her 10 minutes she would give us a quick tour.
And it was not a quick tour! We saw everything there is to see, with plenty of time to ask questions and take photos (no flash) since it was only the 3 of us. The ranger did a great job and listening to her was a pleasure.
You cannot walk through any rooms but peek in. The rooms are pretty small though so a peek from the door is really all you need. The tour is definitely not boring and it's length is pretty perfect (also when visiting with children).
The neighbourhood itself is worth visiting! I'd definitely take visitors there again (and enjoy it equally much as the first time around). Of course the fact that we got a spontaneous private tour made the whole thing even better ;)

Was lovely to see the home in tact. At the time I did the tour, Rose Kennedy's voice was on the speaker as you journeyed throughout the home.
