“A Pleasant Neighborhood Surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2012

I found the JFK family home to be a pleasant, little surprise precisely because the home is a small, unassuming home down an unassuming yet lovely one-way, tree-lined street in the heart of Brookline's Coolidge Corner.
Take the short, informative tour of this Kennedy childhood home and imagine what a typical day must have been like in the household, and the neighborhood, during that particular time in history.

“Interesting in many ways...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

My daughter lives in the neighborhood, so it was an easy walk to the house. Even in those days, it was quite a large house for newlyweds....and they had live in help. They were not your typical newlyweds, I'm sure. The house does not have all the original furniture,,,rather Rose Kennedy tried to recreate what was there, though the dining room and other items are original. It was an interesting tour, starting with a little movie. Rose Kennedy recorded some of the tour herself. Of note is that the Kennedy's grew out of this house and moved not too far away, though that house is privately owned. There is a sense of history here. It is well worth a visit.

“An intimate experience with history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2011

As a young Canadian, at the time, I always had a great admiration for your young and vibrant president. This childhood home has been very authentically and lovingly recreated by Rose Kennedy. The knowledge that she bought the house after the assassination of her son, Jack, and that soon after, another son, Bobby, would be taken from her, makes the visit even more poignant. Our guide was knowledgable and interesting and combined with the taped comments by Rose, the experience was both memorable and inspirational. It certainly brought back memories of what might have been. A most worthwhile experience which can be followed by a walk through the neighbourhood to the family's next house and a visit to the very impressive presidential library.

“Perfect for Kennedy fans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2011

The home is a little off the beaten path, being almost at the end of the subway line from Boston, plus a little walking from there. However, there is a nice tour and the house features several original Kennedy family pieces and has a nice gift shop. You must reserve a tour, although it does not cost.
