“Well worth trying ...”
Reviewed September 9, 2010

Stayed for one night only, the last before our return to UK. Had tickets for Red Sox and needed somewhere close - we weren't disappointed. Parked the car on their lot ($15 per night), then checked in and were received well by the innkeeper on duty. Shown around breakfast room then bedroom, which was clean and comfortable. Cleaned up then headed down to Fenway, a 20 minute walk, enjoyed the ball game, returned to a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was buffet style, it was ok, maybe we were a little late, reasonable choice I suppose.
Flight home was 8pm check in at Logan, and Bertram let us leave the car on their lot for the day, stored the bags, which meant we had a good day in Boston. They let us use a room to change etc at about 5pm which was great as we'd only booked one night. Top marks for that hospitality. Give them a try!

Had everything we needed and more! Beautiful, very quiet, comfortable room. Wonderful beds - slept like a baby! TV, toiletries, robes, hairdryer-never had to ask for anything! The best thing of all....a lovely breakfast (pecan pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit salad, granola, croissants, scones...) served buffet style so we could just help ourselves and go sit on the pretty porch outside. Service was always gracious and friendly. Nestled in a beautiful Brookline neighborhood, just a quick walk to stores and yummy restaurants! Will definitely return!

Sometimes you visit a B&B website, or read a review, and think it's going to be good, but are disappointed when you arrive and actually experience it for yourself. This is NOT the case with The Bertram. We stayed the weekend of July 30 and it was exactly what we hoped (maybe even better). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly without being in your face. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. They even offered snacks all day long, if you wanted them. Only two VERY small issues: the wifi was very weak on the third floor - had to resort to squatting on an unsecured neighbor's network. And the water pressure was pretty slow...but these are very small, almost unimportant issues. I would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

The Bertram Inn was a special place to stay on my special occassion. We stayed in room #3 which was one of the larger rooms. It was so beautiful and had everything we needed. It was right off the living room area but still very private. Breakfast was provided every morning and was yummy. Coffee, tea and cookies were available all day long. The Bertram is located in Brookline which is a small town in Boston. Brookline is a beautiful little area. The train (the T) is located one block from the Bertram which will take you downtown or any where you want to go to site see. I will go back to the Bertram Inn!

Lovely location, friendly staff, quiet yet so close and convenient to downtown. And pet friendly in an elegant setting: so very rare and appreciated. Thanks again for another marvellous stay. Looking forward to next year already.

we arrived via rental car and a friendly staff member showed us around the Inn. There is a beautiful large living room that had a large table with "snacks" out. Coffee, lemonade, water all available. she showed us where the frig was that was stocked with yogurts and other snacks available at all times. Parking is extra ($15) but what do you expect in boston. Neighborhood is quiet. Hot breakfast in the morning. I would definitely stay at the Bertram again. It was like a B&B but without having to deal with any "hosts". We stayed in a large king bed room with sitting area right off the front door and it was quiet.

This place is very conveniently located whether you're driving, walking, or taking the T. They do charge for parking though. Breakfast is great, fresh and pleasant and the common area is one of the best things about the Bertram. They also offer snacks in the afternoon.

I've stayed here a few times, with parents, siblings, my boyfriend and even my dog. Every time has been pleasant and comfortable. I would say my last stay was at a smaller room. It was a little tight for us and the ceiling was a little low (I'm 5'8" but I hit my arms on the bathroom ceiling while getting dressed). Amenities are great- toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board... The hotel is very dog-friendly but they require you bring a crate (they have an extra one but reserve it if needed).
