“Wonderful room, nice staff.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2009

Our room was large and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. It was very convenient to the "T" line, which we took into Boston. Breakfast was a bit skimpy - definitely continental, nothing cooked - just toast and cereal. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again without hesitation.

It was an excellent place to say, very convenient to get around with by the T (The boston subway system). The staff were extremely helpful and was great to attend to us. My sister and I had some difficulty with checking in on time and the staff were great in allowing us to do a late check in which made things very easy for two young girls who were in an unfamiliar city late at night.

The rooms were clean, the sheets were crisp and the towels were big and fluffy. The attached baths also had a good flow of hot running water as well as hair dryers which we found very good. Breakfast was a good start to the day, although simple. Even in simplicity, there was a good variety. It was definitely a great place to stay and I really recommend it.

We almost missed it as it looks like an apartment building in a row of brownstones/brick apartments but the Beacon turned out to be a low-cost way to stay within walking distance of Fenway for a game.

The room we got was fairly small but clean. Bathroom is detached but accessible only by our key so it was a private bathroom. The bathroom was actually really big and nice. Reminded me of the bathroom in a big old house. Lots of character.

Parking can be tight on busy weekends but a nearby garage (10 min walk) charged us $6 (!!) to park from friday afternoon to saturday late morning.

Continental breakfast seemed ok though we did not partake.

No soda or ice machine. I recommend bringing waters as we did because the walk to get a bottle of soda was like 5 blocks unless we missed a closer store.

My husband and I were visiting our college aged son for 6 days. I found the Beacon Inn online and booked our room because of the proximity to his apartment. When we arrived at 1087 Beacon we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful old building, charming staff at every single shift, and a room that took us back to an elegant time and place. We had a gorgeous fireplace, great windows that looked out on Beacon Street, and a comfortable feel like our home. The two best parts, though, were these. First, a price that was so great for Boston we weren't sure whether we would land in a dive or a find and and it was unquestionably a find. The second was, I can't imagine a location that is as near everything as the Beacon Inn. We're walkers and easily hoofed it everywhere on foot from the Isabella Gardner Museum to theBack Bay, the North End, and to Cambridge (not all in the same day. The restaurants, parks, shopping and access to mass transit if you want it were superb. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Boston.

We booked this from reviews on this site and were more than satisfied. Stayed twice in 8 days, first for 3 nights in the bostoian and then returned to the fenway suite. The rooms are large and quite with friendly staff. easy access to the town and walking distance to Fenway park. Great breakfast from a little place across the way. We would recommend this and if returning to Boston a great city would stay again. The decor is antique and is a joy from the chain hotels we would normally stay in.

great find in boston, brilliant location with the green line right outside the door which takes you all around the city. The room were very clean and decorated beautifully. Rooms were cleaned every morning and breakfast was served in the mornings until 10am. Staff and service was really good. Would definitely recommend this place and will be returning soon.

This b and b was selected because of location - and I got much more! The ease of walking to the BU campus made this a most convenient spot for the purpose of the trip. However, staying in a 'home' truly made the few days away feel as if I was removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We found local parks to curl up and read on a bench and we discovered that walking to Newbury Street was also manageable! Seeing a college and being a tourist - at a pace that allowed all to relax!
The staff had maps at the ready to guide us and happily ran upstairs if there was anything needed.
